Mid-Engine Mustang to Debut

IMO, a mid-engine two seater is Ford GT, not a Mustang. I love both and both have their place, but for a Mustang to be a Mustang it needs to be front engine/RWD, with 2+2 seating and be reasonably affordable.

If it is real, I’m hoping it’s more in the C8 Z06 price range but I doubt it. It will probably take the place of the Ford GT, both in the vehicle lineup and in price

Ford did great with the Raptor R (even with the ridiculous price) and the Bronco Raptor, and dropped the ball horribly with the Dark Horse (R). Perhaps this was the reason why the Dark Horse as whole is just a joke. Kinda makes sense now.

Most likely but we can hope. I’d love to see a car that directly competes with Corvette in terms of price but can also compete with Ferrari, McLaren, etc. on the track like the Z06 does. I guess we’ll see on Thursday. And if it was a TT V8 or a hybrid V8, that would be spectacular (not holding my breath on that one).

Which means it's gonna be based on the existing Multimatic Ford GT.

It's a Mustang in exactly the same sense in which a Mach-E is a Mustang.

It is "Project Gold." The street version of the upcoming GT3 race car. Cantilever rear suspension, an alleged SLA front suspension, transaxle (Tremec DCT), CF driveshaft, and plenty more exotic hardware. While the race GT3 is planned to be naturally aspirated, the street version will undoubtedly be FI, much like the Predator engine.

"The Ford Mustang lineup has never been stronger". I call BS. 2020 had all the mustangs. All they have now is a DH with no real power added. Mostly electronics.

It would be nice if they had a mid engine “Mustang” that had a similar platform as the new corvette mid engine cars. How cool would it be if they put the GT350 motor in the rear of the car with mustang looks in the front and rear?

Looks very aggressive although the front grill kinda reminds me of a KIA.
Oh well, I'll probably never be able to afford it anyway.
