No.

The majority of Ford's development money is going into EVs so, whatever budget S550/S650 has, I want that spent on a proper pony car, with 4 seats, a long hood (with the engine up front) and a short rear deck.

It's a recipe that's worked perfectly for 47 years, no need to mess with it now :)

I doubt it. They will go AWD long before that.

Hello; If the mid engine is an ICE and it has a manual trans I will consider it. I also would not want it to be loaded with sharp angles like the new Corvette.
They could dust off the mid 2000's plans of the GT and use them. Maybe not so loaded up and expensive as the GT. To my eye the GT was and still is a very sharp looking car. I would not need a supercharger either.

Of course not. It's a Pony car, not a Sports car.

There were a few things cooking with the nameplate before the Mustang II....

But... if Ford's Dumbledorf created a Mock-E, isn't anything possible?

THE Mustang was never a CUV in all its years either, but look what happened.

Mach E is an EV crossover........the EV bit is the fastest growing market segment.........the crossover has been the biggest selling market segment for years..........so Mach E is almost guaranteed to be a success.

Mid engined sports cars? Not so much.

nah…. I think seeing the engine disappear altogether is more likely.

But the C8 and NSX are HUGE volume sellers!!! /s
With the C8, GM can't make them fast enough and they are on pace to be somewhat commonplace and are the exception to the mid-engine rule of low volume production. The NSX has been a flop of sorts.

No. That's not what a Mustang is.
