I'm not sure how accurate this is so take it with a grain of salt, but your situation of driving ~2mi at a time on E85 reminded me of this video I saw a few months back which states that short drives on E85 can cause problems over time. Just one coyote owner lookin' out for another.

Thanks for the heads up! Although the commute is 2 miles, I let the car reach temp and make stops before getting to work so I don’t think it’ll be much of an issue. I also do a fair share of (spirited) driving outside of the work hours

Redline complete fuel system cleaner seems to not have any bad effects from my experience

I put 300 gallons of E70-80 through mine from May to November. I stay away from additives. I switch to straight gasoline a week before she gets parked in the garage for winter.

My bud ran pump E for 6 years in his GTO. That car never saw straight gas. Car was stored in NY in a barn every winter with no additives, fired up no problem each spring and ran 9’s every trip to the dragstrip.

Gasoline is a solvent. Ethanol/Alcohol is a solvent. Fuel systems don’t need additives. There’s in-line and/or sock filters on pumps for particles.

ah that makes sense, mine tests at 80 but have yet to see what it'll be in the winter. Is mmo soluble in alcohol?
Actually yes - I diluted MMO in a bottle with E85 and shook well - it diffused perfectly into a pale pink but still clear solution. Put the MMO in first and then fill (not that I know if that is important).

Has anyone been using the rev x e boost? I just switched to a straight e85 tune and won’t be going back to 91. I’m interested in reducing the water accumulation as my car is a Weeknd only car and lube as it’s been shown cali e is pure but also dry I’ve been looking a MMO and power plus top lube. I’ve been only putting 10 gallons in each Weeknd so by Sunday I run most of it out and try to drive it wenseday so it’s not sitting to long.

This. 1000%. Using snake oils like upper cylinder lube (whatever TF that means), 2-stroke oil, blah, blah, etc., etc does more harm than good. Actually, there is no good side in using those type of products.

Upper cylinder lube was needed 45+ years ago lol. Or when someone is mixing in more than 40% Toluene, or Benzene for increased octane as race fuel 30 years ago.

Oh that's right. 1/2 liter of trans fluid did the trick.

Methanol still needs a lube. I also think ethanol needs a lube.

You do you.

Really. Where in any vehicle manual for passenger vehicles since the 80's does it say to use lube ?

I put it in the it can't hurt and might help category. E10 or E15 doesn't need it, E80 to E100 might.

you can't get e100 at the pump. So totally irrelevant.
Can't see anything in the F150 manual about adding lube
when using e85. ever see what fuel lube additives do to
02 sensors ? Not pretty Jimmy.

I believe you're over thinking it. My car sits for weeks at a time, sometimes over a month without me driving it. I have not had any trouble leaving pump E85 in it. I don't use any additives.
