I know methanol is abrasive without some kind of lube in it. I "assume" ethanol is also. E85 does have some gas and that should lube the pump and injectors but I like to play on the safe sideBUT I am no expert on E-85
Glad I read this. I have a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner on hand now. I definitely won’t be using it in my Mustang. The reason for the regular gas every oil change interval in the F150 is for lubrication. Also, would suggest not using the Lucas based on this:

They recommend MarvelMysteryOil instead. I add a few ounces every couple tanks and havent looked back

Yeah I don’t use Lucas anything. Nothing they produce is worth it even if they’re paying you. Zero products of qualityI ran from Lucas products years ago when I saw a diff with their additive added. The diff had a clear rear cover. After about 10 seconds of running it was nothing but foam. Trapped a lot of air
I did just clean my injectors two weeks ago and replaced the factory fuel pump which burnt up on me (with no warning) while I was out on a drive. Had to get towed home from a busy intersection.Yeah I don’t use Lucas anything. Nothing they produce is worth it even if they’re paying you. Zero products of quality
I throw in a very small amount of MMO per tank for lubricity because E85 in CA is practically E90 (almost anhydrous). The track guys (track mustangs online) endorse this.Is adding lubricants necessary or just a myth?
ah that makes sense, mine tests at 80 but have yet to see what it'll be in the winter. Is mmo soluble in alcohol?I throw in a very small amount of MMO per tank for lubricity because E85 in CA is practically E90 (almost anhydrous). The track guys (track mustangs online) endorse this.
My question also. I'll buy a small can and try it before I put it in my tank.Is mmo soluble in alcohol?
feel like we should be able to just ask mmo directly if it's recommended for ethanol, I'll email themMy question also. I'll buy a small can and try it before I put it in my tank.
I'm not sure how accurate this is so take it with a grain of salt, but your situation of driving ~2mi at a time on E85 reminded me of this video I saw a few months back which states that short drives on E85 can cause problems over time. Just one coyote owner lookin' out for another.I would like to know as well. I've been running E85 exclusively since I got the tune and I don't really want to run a full tank of 93 but will if I have too. My daily commute is short (2 miles if that) so E lasts a while for me lol
