Mach 1…make sure you take the carbon trap. Mine breaths better and you can feel the difference with the transmission. It doesn’t lug the engine like it used to with the carbon trap.

I’m 67 and factory ordered my 21 GT/CS. Love it but thinking of trading up to a 22 Mach 1.I’ve been looking at a 23 Mach1 at our local Ford dealer. I will be turning 64 soon and I am going to get a Mustang to enjoy during retirement. We have had Mustangs in the past. They were 09’s. My question after doing research on the Mach 1 is if this is too much car for a guy that probably will never even do a burnout let alone ever get it on a track? I’m thinking just a GT would be plenty. But this particular car is really in good shape.
Am I overthinking this? Any opinions are appreciated.
You are aware the Mach 1 has active exhaust right?i was kinda shocked at how loud the performance pack GT is so I'm gonna recommend a plain ole GT in the color you like with some nice comfy seats.
One thing i wish i had was the active exhaust to make it a bit quieter. nobody really told me that the normal GT exhaust was like the middle setting on the active.
the normal GT is really good if you aren't planning on many triple digit stops in a row![]()
yes, its also louder and comes with all the other stuff. You are aware the Mach 1 has active exhaust right?
Do it!I’m 67 and factory ordered my 21 GT/CS. Love it but thinking of trading up to a 22 Mach 1.
I would go for it.
I'll play the GTs advocate for this one. I would normally recommend the Mach 1 but since it sounds like you just want a cruiser I would like to recommend the 401A GT with no Track Pack. I call it the Grandpa package. The suspension is soft for cruising, the power is plenty, the A10 with paddles is sweet, the 3.15s are really well mannered, the stereo is a nice bump over stock, and you'll save like $10k. The Mach is going to be way stiffer which you really don't need in a non track cruiser.
I completely agree.Everybody dies. Not everybody truly lives.
I have a firm belief everybody should spend their money on something silly in the grand first world problem scheme of things.
whether it's trips, cars, watches, food, your home, your kids, whatever it is....
Do it... when you die you can't take it with you.
Just do it.
So jealous of your BossI'm have to disagree with this unless I am buying the car to go on long trips with.
I went from a 2020 GT with PP1, Magnaride and Active Exhaust
To a 2013 Boss 302, the Boss is way more fun to drive and take out for a nice cruise. Just having that feel of raw aggression in the car makes it so much more enjoyable.
I'm 67 years old.

I think it's still super comfortable, especially if you're not in track mode.It is not what I would consider comfortable though as a cruiser.
Where the GT can be more compliant, even on normal settings the M1 is simply a stiffer ride across the board. I can see that wear on some.
