Hey all, I think my Mach1 is running too rich. It's currently stock, bought used a few hundred miles ago. I have noticed some black soot over time mostly on the two center pipes (I drive with exhaust in sport mode all the time and in normal mode (A10)).

I checked the AF ratio through the digital cluster gauge and at normal throttle it sits at 14 exactly which is on the rich side. I would expect it to be closer to 14.7.

What is your AF ratio under normal throttle and is this a common issue?

Seems pretty normal. I wouldn’t be too concerned unless it was a large amount of build up in a short time.

Rear O2 sensor would throw a code if running rich. I also believe the deposits on exhaust are common with direct injection engines.

Thanks guys, glad to know it's in the expected tolerances for a stock Mach1. I'm about to get it tuned and it would be a good time to address any issues under warranty before I pull the trigger.

Lund should be able to fine tune the AF ratio.

I'm making an order from chemical guys to take advantage of sales and added metal polish to clean these tips.

Unless you tell him you are running alcohol free gas Lund or any tuner will not change the stoich setting.
