Sounds like a good excuse to go twin turbo! Will help quiet it down haha

This looks promising. And its full stainless and only $240.

I had this installed after I ✂ 🐈 but I just didn't like the tone. However, it did effectively quiet the car a lot. I ended up removing it a week later 😅. I had my exhaust shop make an HH with vibrants welded right in the middle, cruising tone is nice but once you pass 3.5k rpm it scream.

So an X-Pipe with the Tru-x resonator/xpipe thing is quieter than the factory resonator?
I have got Kooks LTH 1 3/4 with green cats and stock active exhaust and Tru-x resonator and for this combo its quieter than stock muffler (with LTH) and less flow restricting.

Something I don’t see people talk about a lot is that you can adjust the exhaust valve positions to compensate for headers or an x-pipe or whatever you have.

You’d have to talk to your tuner, but there’s like 4 tables that you can reduce so that in Normal and Sport it will be more reasonable.

The valves operate on a 3D table, so I just reduced them by 20% and then rounded to the nearest .05. It’s real easy.

I left track stock which is wide open so there’s always a mode that lets you let it scream.

Good idea. I guess my only concern would be restricting the exhaust flow too much in an effort to curb the volume.

There's a failsafe table in there, which is minimum allowed valve position as a relationship between RPM and throttle %. As long as that one is left alone you'll be safe.

Good stuff, I'll hit up Wengerd and see what he can do. In fact, let me drag him into this conversation.

@Wengerd Performance Might you be able to adjust some active exhaust valve settings for me so that my ear drums don't burst?

So did you replace the factory resonator with an H or X pipe, and then have the Tru-x welded into it?
