Just ordered Antigravity Lithium Battery

Oohhh, I never thought about that question...so you can't jump start one of these if you're dead and stranded somewhere??

I just got my 20 yesterday and AntiGravity messed up. Instead of sending me a battery, it looks like I received a fake display model or something. It looks like the battery, but it's just a case/box, like you'd leave out on a store shelf or something as a display. There's no internals or anything in the battery. You can tell because of the weight.























(Kidding....holy cow...it threw me completely off guard how light this thing is)

Correct. Only jump start with one of those jumpstart packs.

Which is very odd...... Both are still 12V systems and act as so. The only thing the internal BMS does is equalize the cells inside the case during charging.

I called Antigravity to confirm when I bought mine. Antigravity does make a battery that has the jump start capacity, but I think that battery causes havoc with Ford electrics once it's fully charged.

That’s the reserve self discharge “jump start” feature.

These things are stupid expensive now. We had to replace the battery in the Miata this summer -$270.

I bought one of these 3D printed ABS mounts from repop3d. It mounts like the stock and puts the terminals in the stock position.

I got the MMR also (look for it in the classifieds soon), but discovered it does not work inside the stock battery box without some slight mods to the box or some grinding on the MMR baseplate. Their website does not provide this note. Maybe shoulda known that anyways. Debatable, but. The MMR is a super nice piece though, well designed and looks great. Just a personal choice to retain the stock box. The mods (slight grinding) to the stock box to get the MMR to work would be minimal actually, I just didn’t feel like tackling it with this 3D one available. Just too easy.

I think it took about a week or so to get mine. If you would, please post a picture or two of the install after it's all setup.

My stock battery is doing fine, so it's kind of difficult to spring for a new battery now. Got other things to upgrade first.

@ARAMP1 will do. Thier customer service was great. Since I didn’t like my MMR, the car is now down. I called them to see if it was in stock and ready to ship. She kept me on the phone while she got one off the shelf and said “it’s literally in my hand. If you can get your order in in the next 15 min, I can get it out today on the truck.” I had shipping confirmation for Sat within the hour.

Overall pretty darn nice piece and happy I went this route. The mount is cool, and like I said earlier, my goal was retaining the box. I think these guys could have done something a little cooler with the labeling, but I’m sure that involes licensing and such, but oh well. Install pics tomorrow, but the jist of it is, this whole assembly just sits down in the box and clamps in place with the stock hold-down. Not too cosmic.
