Old guy here (mid 60's) and my first post. We've owned over 40 vehicles over the years. Never a Mustang, though my wife and I had a 73 Camaro when we were in college, and we also had a C4 Corvette. Our most recent sports cars were a 2005 Porsche Boxster, which we replaced with a 2006 911 Carrera coupe, both purchased used. I had always wanted a 911, and when I turned 60, I bought one. It was a terrific car, but where we live (Bismarck, ND) service for Porsche is a challenge, and expensive. I sold the 911 earlier this year and started looking for something to replace it. I wanted another stick shift, and that turned out to be a challenge. A Ford dealer is literally across the street from my office, and I walked over there one day in June and they had a beautiful Magnetic 2017 GT coupe with the performance package and 6 speed stick. The price was right, and after two test drives, I decided to buy it. We have put about 2500 miles on it so far, including a 1700 mile round trip to Michigan.

Likes: performance, shifter, color, styling, good luggage space and fairly usable back seat, warranty and ease of service, relatively simple normally aspirated V8 motor and rwd layout, comfortable front seats (heated and cooled) good dash with easy to use interface.

Dislikes: lack of cool outside air from the dash vents (I don't use the a/c around town), the build quality, materials, and ergonomics are clearly a step or two below Porsche or similar cars (though quite adequate for the price), and I wish the back seat had an inch or two more headroom, because we do try to use it from time to time.

Another plus for the Mustang is that it was assembled in our home state of Michigan (I'm a native of Detroit).

All in all, we love our new GT.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum John..Wow, all those years of cars and no Iroc z's, mustang lx 5.0s, or T/As?. Sounds like you missed out on lots of performance but never too late I guess haha..

Hey everyone! My name is Phil and I recently upgraded to a 2017 Mustang GT PP in white platinum from a 2014 Mustang V6. I put quite a bit of work into my last car and I am looking forward to making this one my own as well. All in all, I'm loving the improved power and handling that my s550 has to offer!

Hello everyone! My name is Brandon and a soon-to-be GT350 owner. My current ride is a 2014 GT with a bit of this and that, mixed with some things and stuff. Recently relocated from NoCal to NoVA for work. I will make a more detailed post about the GT350 order process in the appropriate forum sections; just wanted to make a quick hi-n-hello!

New Mustang owner

Hi everyone I recently purchased my first Mustang a couple of weeks ago and I was recommend to this site by someone on reddit. I joined this site because I want to get advice from other mustang owners about maintenance and performances upgrades.

Here are some pictures that I have taken so far. I haven't been able to drive it a lot sadly because of hurricane Harvey.

Its a 2017 GT California Special.

I am contemplating a switch to a gt350, what made you decide to take the leap?

When the GT350 came out, I was struck by every piece of the engineering. While following the last couple of years of GT350 reviews, I was keeping my ear to the ground for the GT500. The more and more I listened, the more I realized that the usable (comparatively speaking) power of the GT350 against what is expected of the gargantuan GT500 power level was what I truly wanted. My current 14 is putting down about 525 RWHP, is a blast, and mean as hell...but I want more than just raw power. The GT350 is a precision guided missile: agile, mean, and pack one hell of a punch. Considering all this, I decided I wanted a balanced car instead of another rocket. Don't get me wrong...I'm sure the upcoming GT500 will carry some spectacular technology and lessons learned via the GT350's development. But grabbing a GT350 just felt right: iconic, balanced power and nimbleness, and perfect timing for my life.

Hey everyone, I'm Don. I'm 42 and live in Virginia. I picked up my 2017 S550 PP (Ruby Red) on the 4th of July (MERICA!.) My current upgrades so far are as follows:

MBRP street catback exhaust (XP Series) - awesome exhaust with no drone. Unfortunatelly after 1k miles, I already want something louder, but I'll have to wait some time (other upgrades come first)

JLT oil catch

Barton shifter (awesome):D

Roush CAI

Grill mod (custom car grills.com)

Steeda clutch spring

Next upgrades on my list: Whipple (I just need a 15% discount code - maybe I'll see one Holloween or Thanksgiving,) Steeda Pro coilovers. Obviously later when finances allow, I'll do supporting mods like drive shaft, half shafts, and clutch.

Please IM me if you come across a big whipple discount code:eyebulge:
