Yeah, this was new to me too. I was under the impression that break-in oils were a thing of the past. His explanation was that while there is an additive provided to the oil, the oil itself is simply OEM Motorcraft juice. I didn't mean to imply this was now fact, only a piece of interesting...
Thankfully this has been an amenable conversation -- hopefully it stays on the "what torque wrench they have" part hahaha. I have similar feelings to your referenced Sr guy using Husky. My tool mixture is Kobalt, Husky, and Harbor Freight -- having tools that built well for the cost with...
This is great information -- these metrics help the monitoring process.
Same thing here -- the more metrics, the better.
This was exactly how my dipstick looked -- 1/2 quart nailed the top off.
Very nice -- glad to hear your rate is so low...
I had to expand my tool selection, specifically my torque wrench, with the Shelby purchase. After shopping around, I ended up grabbing a Husky 50-250 ft lbs 1/2" wrench, and on an impulse a set of Husky 1/2" protected sockets.
Torque Wrench...
Wanted to throw in my personal experience with oil consumption thus far. I picked up my '18 on 04 November, and have just over 15XX miles today. I have now used 1/2 of a quart, within the expected burn rate. I have been sure to keep an eye on it, while measuring per Ford's service manual...
Thank you very much! This kind of feedback is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the specificity in POCs and titles as well. Leesburg is a comfortable drive from Manassas too (at a minimum some smiles per gallon haha); I frequent Sterling for my detail shop just south of that area.
Hello all! I am preemptively looking for a reputable Ford that I can trust with potential warranty/service/etc. work. I dug around the forums and located a few conversations about solid dealerships in vicinity of NoVA, and wanted to ask if anyone has experiences with, or knows of additional...
First off, I apologize if this has been discussed before...cannot find it. Secondly, if this is new information to fellow automotive-OCD types...sorry.
Anyone ever notice the driver vs passenger buckle suspension stitch on the respective seatbelts are not sewn at the same points? Is this just...
Hmm, I will check mine for ya. It will be a bit before I report back, but I will take some photos. Can you elaborate on the area in question please? I never saw the '17s too close, so everything will seem normal to me haha.
Thanks! Apparently, SunTek has a new high-end line; it offers better durability and protection than the previous product. The way SunTek was explained to me, its clarity beats out XPel and allows for greater "depth" from vibrant colors...which LB definitely is haha. From what I have seen, XPel...
Well, decided to take advantage of the paint's undamaged status and get her shielded. Had a full detail, machine polish, CQuartz applied to body, wheels, and calipers, and SunTek applied to full front, full hood, both front fenders, rocker areas in front of rear tires, A-pillars, side mirrors...
That sounds fun...er I mean dangerous...yeah that one :) Thanks for the suggestion; I will try that today. I have been watching the weather closely, but the accuracy seems hit-or-miss around here. But based on the number of days with a high chance of rain, it is bound to happen.
Made me...
