I am new to the S550 and Coyote platform so don't bash me too bad. I am now wanting to start modding my car for more power but I am torn on which way to go. I am wanting to get to about 600-650 RWHP and that's all. I am not looking for anything above that, even though I know you can get there pretty easily. So my question is, should I do bolt on's and leave it naturally aspirated or should I just buy a Whipple and be done with it? If bolt on's is the better way to go, what should I get? Other than LT headers and a tune, is there that much stuff out there? Like I said, new to the platform so go easy. If it was a Fox Body 5.0, I would already know these answers as I have had a few of them with bolt on's and power adders. I know I can drop $10k on the Whipple and already be where I want to be. Oh, I want to stay away from E-85 as well. I know it seems like the way to go, but I want to be able to fill up anywhere with 91-93 octane.

Depends a little on the goal too. Are you going to track the car? Then the Whipple route isnt the best option. Just street, and perhaps a strip day here and there, then forced induction is a one and done...
But that never happens once the bug bites

I did a Roush Phase 2 but I think headers are a waste of money vs hp gained. I've got Roush axle backs and I'm getting 654 rwhp and passing emissions every two years. I'm going on three years with the supercharger and I love it.

Looking at your aviator, I spy what looks like Forgestar D5s. If I’m correct, that would suggest that you have an interest in either drag or roll racing.

to make 600's at the wheels, that's a tall order for NA to get to.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help. I have no plans to track this car at all. I used to drag race years ago when I had my built Fox Coupe, but not now. My car is completely stock with the 10R80 with 3.15 gears. I love the whine of the Whippled Mustangs. So that may be the way to go.

Yes, I do have it set up to look like a drag car, as I was trying to mimic an old 06 GT I had back then. Yes, they are Forgestar D5's which was closest wheel to the wheels I had on my 06.

You're not getting any whine with the Gen5 Whipple. If you want whine and 650whp, get a centri with straight cut gears a DW 400 or Ti274 fuel pump and some ID1050X's. You'll hear the whine you want, your A10 will keep you in the rpm range to take advantage of the centri's compressor map and you'll love the car. You'll be at 650 at the wheels on pump 93 and the car will live a happy life.

So which supercharger do I get? Procharger, Vortech or Paxton? Or do I just put twin turbos on it with the Screamer upgrade from Hellion? I am really new to this platform, so bare with me.

All great options.

You need to determine how you want your boost. Do you want an immediate hit of HP and TQ from nearly off idle? If so go with a PD blower like a Whipple or TVS. Do you want it to drive like it’s stock until you’re over 3,500 RPM and then make jet plane noises? If so, go with a Centrifugal setup like Procharger, Paxton, or ESS. Or, do you want a combination of both with a ton of boost adjustability? If so, go twins.

Each setup comes with its own set of pros and cons. Which set fits you best is something only you can determine.

Everybody is going to tell you a different supercharger to get. They all have their ups/downs. Even the heat soaked Roush i have has been great to me....

This forum has a wealth of knowledge and every forced induction has been talked over 1000 of times. I would browse the site and search and start with some reading. Or call and talk to Terry @beefcake as he will answer any question you have and get you setup with any combination you can imagine for your power goals.

This right here. Terry, or his guys, will take the time to talk to you, understand your goals and get you set up with what you need.

As all are saying, you will not be reaching those numbers N/A without an absurd build - which will cost more than forced induction. Like @LOL WUT said, you will need to determine how you want your boost first, then you'd filter out some options and be able to make a decision.

Obviously there are plenty of great options out there, but when you're ready to discuss them give us a call here at Lethal Performance and we'll get you set up! Let me know if you have any questions.
