I have. Buddy has one. Great car. Zero complaints with the dct in my 500. Tremec put out a phenomenal setup. Be interesting to see how the op makes out with the swap.

Test drive a BMW M3 Competition. You will wish all of your cars shifted like it can

Progress!

Most of the parts arrived last week. Made some pogress disassembling the mechatronics to get acces to the OEM TCU and replace it with the bypass pcb. Also figured out the wiring of the TCU itself. Removed the Can wires that where already on the connector but since Ford ECU's are not supported i need to wire it in manually. For that i wired in the 3 wires that are needed for that. TPS, MAP and RPM. I still need to figure out where to get the 3 signals from the car. I figure tps and map i can get from the respective sensor but rpm i would either need to get from the coil or the crank sensor i think? Anway next step is to put the heat sink on the bypass pcb with loctite 5980 which arrives tomorrow. After that i can reassemble the gearbox.

The ZF8 is the real deal and is the trans Ford should be using.
This.

I didn't realize what a turd the Ford A10 is in my F150 until I bought my '23 Wrangler with the ZF8. ZF8 = shifting perfection.

Major props to you for undertaking this. Not for the faint of heart. Kudos.

Some more progress. Removed the TR3160 and fitted the domiworks adapter plate + jp flexplate for the zf8hp. Fits perfectly to the engine. Probably tomorrow the zf8 will go in if everything works. Physically there are a couple of questions still open but i'm 95% confident that physically the transmission fits.
1)Im pretty sure i need a custom driveshaft not sure where to get one for my specifics for the moment. The zf8 with the adapter 1-2 longer and has a different flange.
2)Since now there is no more clutch slave cylinder and i don't wanna remove the clutch i need to figure out a contraption that makes the clutch work without a slave.
3)I need to fabricate a transmission cross brace.

So if anyone asked themselves if a zf8hp70 (n63) fits a gt350/mustang it does! Thankfully the voodoo block has the same access/service hole to bolt the torque converter to the flex plate. Whole install went fairly smooth. Also first attempts to fabricate a trans cross brace. For the driveshaft i will probably buy a used BMW one for an F10 550i and a used Mustang GT one and weld my own. Oil cooler should also be fairly easy. I will use the existing one and use AN fittings with steel braided lines in place of the oem lines.

Any Voodoo shamans here with insight into how the drivestrain vibration dampening will be affected by this swap?

Solid work on the mount. I went with something similar and it's worked well so far!

re: driveshaft, given all the work, why not get a custom CF shaft? Driveshaft shop will make what you need

Later down the line that sounds like the way to go. In Austria there is just barly anyone that i know off that does something like this. Ordering bigger parts like that from America comes with a hefty premium unfortunatly.

Another option to get the car going faster that i was thinking off is using the driveshaft from an automatic 2018+ gt. From what i could gather is that its an inch shorter than the manual one. The zf8hp with the adapter is just approximatly 1 centimeter longer. With a short adapter such as this one:

https://www.domi-works.com/products...inserts-1350-yoke?_pos=2&_sid=057ce80e0&_ss=r

It would be pretty close. I’m just not really really sure about a couple of things.
1) Is the flange on the diff the same as on the gt350
2) Is the center support bearing on the same spot?
3) It should be close but im not sure how close

Haven’t orderd anything yet i’m still gathering as much info as i can get.

That makes sense. I forgot about your location - definitely makes stuff harder.

I can't help with items 2/3, but I can tell you the GT350 uses a different flange on the differential than the GT prior to 2018 (I think that's the correct year). I had to switch my diff flange to a GT one when I ordered my driveshaft with an end for a GT (forgot to specify GT350).

Transmission cross brace is done! Hopefully next week i receive the last parts for the oil cooler and driveshaft + driveshaft adapter.

New issue that i have is i need to retrofit a MAP sensor to the intake manifold. I bought a Haltech MAP sensor and will hook it up to a vaccum line that goes into the intake. At least thats the plan.

I'm glad to see some rubber on that mount. My main concern with this swap is the vibrations from the engine and if the DCT is properly damped for it.
