I'm sure both the R and standard GT 350 will continue to show a sad but steady decline. When a car like ours that every year was thought to be a limited production but yet they just kept on producing them with very little changes except coolers added to all of them its going to happen.

So, you needed to look at NADA to see a car looses value after purchase?
I was discussing the rate of depreciation.

I have been buying and selling cars my whole life and all I know is I always end up overpaying and when I sell them I never get close to what I thought I could sell them for. Haha.
Now this is the most accurate statement I have heard on this or any other site...especially the last part. I do exactly the same thing and don't believe anyone else does any different...even if they tell me they do great on every car then own.

Let’s have a chat!

I know this topic may be taboo, but what are your thoughts on the recent GT350R that sold on BaT for 52K? Edit: Looks like it didn’t meet reserve pricing.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2016-ford-shelby-gt350r-2/

Factors to take into consideration:

- What looks to be 4,000+ track miles
- 2 Owner car
- Most common built spec
- Winter season, before major financial holiday

Recently to get a gauge on my 2018 GT350R value I took it into a dealer, 5,000 miles, electronics pack car, $58,000 max trade. I was surprised at how low the offer was, I figured it would at least be in the 62K-65K range.

Curious to what the community thinks!
You were surprised that the dealer wants to make money? I’m not. That’s their bread and butter man. You absolutely can NOT use what a dealer offers in trade as a market indication.

I’ve purposely listed my car at a high price (because I don’t REALLY want to sell it....just want to work on this project car I have, so if someone REALLY wants it, then fine). I’ve been offered 62500 twice for a 10k mile 16 R - in the last month.

I recently got 2 trade in offers from dealers sight unseen. One dealer out of MI offered $54K for my R. Another dealer out of VA offered $62K. The MI dealer didn’t have a Ford sister store and obviously is up north. The VA dealer has a high volume Ford sister store and is located in a very affluent area.

I decided I would definitely miss the R and decided to keep it.

With the number of Rs produced, not sure you could accurately predict the rate of depreciation. You would have to have access to nearly every sale

By me there are at least 2 R's that have been sitting on lots for months, at sticker. I have a feeling either the market is cooling off or waiting for the 2019.

Define - "at sticker". Usually, they are advertised in their automated systems at sticker but when you get to the dealer, the story is different. You're up North, so I wonder if the season has more to do with that - who wants to buy a car like that to instantly park for the Winter?

They have been there since before Winter, and Sticker = MSRP. The same dealer has been selling regular GT350's for under sticker for over a year. At least 1 of the R's has been there since least 4/18

What he means is that many dealers will have an R listed at sticker and then when you call to ask them about the price they give you an ADM. That dealer might not, but he’s just saying you don’t know until you make an inquiry.

Either way, with the spiraling of the stock market it’s difficult to make any judgements about an individual car’s market. A sports car is a bad investment in the summer of a bull market. In the winter of a cliff sliding market correlations become even more meaningless. This may be a good time to buy an R, but it also doesn’t serve as a long term forcast.

I've dealt with them before. Nearly bought a GT350 off them about a year ago(2/18) but decided to hold out for a bit longer. Even then they were offering me about $350 under MSRP. They have their R's marked up on their site, but a sales guy told me they would take less. They had a Bullitt marked 5K over but still took MSRP for it.

Two owners in a short time? Makes me wonder if this is one of the oil burners...

The only R available in my rear is still $98k... talked to someone the other day that tried to buy it at $90K and they wouldn't budge.

People keep talking about the 500 going to make the 350 valuations decline. I actually see it differently. I actually think it might HELP GT350 values at least stable out if not even go up because I could see new GT500 owners also wanting a GT350 to complete the lot.

People are going to laugh when the GT500 comes out.

The GT350 + FI (esp a centri since they love rpm) will be a better car and for less money.

After this long of a wait Ford better make the GT500 something extra special a TVS 5.2 engine and a few whoopdie do gimmics wont do it. That car is bordering on a BUST unless its truely incredible.

The Voodoo engine alone is worth the price of admission in the GT350s IMO.
