I'd buy the used engine, as long as it's in good condition and I'd either refresh it or just plop it in (depending on its history and condition).

Can you elaborate on that? Is the block screwed like Tomster brought up? Was it running, lost oil, and seized? I can see more of an issue with your location and availability of parts then if it can be brought back to standard.
Few things mixed up but the main factor is that there was a front hit and some parts in front of the engine including oil cooler were damaged and car ran out from the oil and was running without it. Few shorts starts did that. Not by me though… 🙂

Maybe its a geography thing. We’d tear it down here to see what’s going on before turning it in to a boat anchor.


There are some differences between the 18 and the 19 although not as many as the pre 18 base engine. Honestly, Id rebuild the original
