Some angles and pictures do make the front ends look better on the gen 2's but my gen 3 has grown on me

Something seems off about that pic. Is it an odd angle? The front wheels look a lot smaller than the rears, and the front looks squished compared to the rear. Overall proportions look off for some reason...

OK, this had me confused.

Whilst I know the Coyote engine is described as Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3, I would never refer to the S550 bodystyles as Gen 2 or Gen 3.............for me the 2015-2017 are Gen 1 S550s and the 2018+ are Gen 2.......or probably just easier to refer to them by the model years!

Back the the subject though.......'18+ is my preference........although the '21 Mach 1 is even better :)
we can also refer to the 2018+ as the MHR which stands for Miata Headlight Refresh

he needs to use the profile correction option in lightroom

My rears are 20x10 replicas with 295/35/20's so the rear is alot higher my fronts are 19x9 oem's with spacers with 255/40/19's, that pic has the adobe lightroom lens profile correction applied which removes lens distortion so it should be accurate although I thought it looked kind of off at first too. Heres the same exact pic without the lens distortion correction

Top uncorrected , bottom is corrected for my lens according to lightroom. And the corrections do seem to make horizons flat etc.

I think the lighting hitting the car from this angle combined with the angle I took the pic is why it looks like that. Also, I took it at 105mm focal length on an a6300 with sony 18-105 lens so I was like 40-50 feet away that may have helped compress the car? idk, I but I like the pic, and I like the rake of the bigger wheels and tires in the back.

I actually had a hard time with S550’s back in 2015. It was such a departure from the retro 05-14 s197 styling. I was not until just over two years ago I walked on a Ford lot and fell in love with the 18 Gt pp1 with the wing. The 15-17 looks awkward (and dated now) to me in the front with the higher hood line.

I love the front end of the 18-20's. It's more aggressive and aero at the same time. Hard to get both at the same time.

Ford accessory parts, made by Air Research.
Looks like it really opens up the vent area. How much of the hood has to be cut? I just drilled 1/2 in holes to make the stock ones more useable.

I always prefer cleaner, smoother styling to all the angles, creases and gingerbread. But, I have a hard time telling Mustang models apart. I guess continuation of a design theme is a good thing. What Chevy did to the Camaro between 2015 and 2017 was just criminal.

I think the lighting hitting the car perfectly from the side combined with the angle I took the pic is why it looks like that..

Ah OK, I didn't realize the rears were 20" wheels. That explains the proportions. That said, you could go 285/35/20 with your next rear tire purchase and make the tire a little smaller in diameter so it matches the factory PP1 size a bit better.

Gen 2 for the win.

Oh yeah as per some points made in this thread haha.. Gen 2 coyote / gen 1 S550 for the win. the gen 2 S500 is way to angular. If I wanted angles, I'd buy a Cadillac haha

No cutting, and the vent area stays the same. Only the rear vent is open.
