I recently picked up a set of the aluminum pedals, I ordered them through the Ford website and installation was available through my service dealer and I figured why not. Usually I only trust dealers to do maintenance and stuff like that, is this something I should trust them to do? I don’t want to do it because I don’t have a torque wrench in inch lbs for the accelerator pedal. Probably overthinking this one.

Buy a 1/4" torque wrench at Harbor Freight for like $15
I think I’ll do this and save myself the headache of them potentially rushing anything lol

FWIW I tried a set of pedal covers like that when I was like 18 or 19. There are a lot of times when they become very slippery, I ripped them off in a parking lot one day and chucked em

I went with these OEM ones so hoping they’ll be decent.

I don't trust the dealershit at all, I work on my own car (had to buy the tools ofc)
I feel that. I honestly can just see them rushing it and scratching up all the metal underneath the pedals on the actual assembly which I’d rather avoid.

You don’t need a torque wrench for that pedal.
Job is a pain in the ass till I read you need to put the pedals in very hot water to soften the rubber. And some bicycle tire change plastic tool helped me a lot too.

This. I struggled with them for a bit, then put one in a pot of boiling water. It went on in less than a minute all softened up, but hot on your hands, and I needed to feel so no gloves. Did the same for the other and was done in <15 minutes even with the gas pedal.

Pedals are on, and maybe placebo but I feel like I am able to get better engagement on the clutch pedal. The gas pedal came with a small scratch, no biggy, but is there a way to polish it off?
