Pedals are on, and maybe placebo but I feel like I am able to get better engagement on the clutch pedal. The gas pedal came with a small scratch, no biggy, but is there a way to polish it off?
Pic of gas pedal scratch?

IMHO, sight unseen, I’d leave it alone. You’ll never match the brushed aluminum finish. Especially now since it’s installed.

Oh, long as you’re at it…

The scratch is seen because the scratch itself scatters the light striking it and reflecting in directions other than your eyes.

If the metal portion, it would involve sandpaper of differing grits.

Start with the coarsest grit you think will have an effect on the metal and the scratch. While working back-and-forth in one direction, left/right, you'll be left with a uniform appearance of straight lines. Now, use less-coarse sandpaper and do the same thing. Over time, you'll go lighter and lighter, creating less-deep scratches, until you get the appearance you want. For example, 600-grit, 1000, 2000, etc. IDK what grit to start with. Maybe start at 1000 and see what affect it is.

The pedals are a wear item. While you've got only one scratch now, I'd expect them to accumulate over time.

You've got a new set; I'd keep them in the wrapper and judge for yourself in a few years. In the mean time, try the sandpaper.

Hello; I get worrying about paint and that sort of cosmetic scratches. But these are pedals on which you press your feet. Scratch them up. Wear them out. They are a wear item.

See so normally i’d not care at all about this, but i’m off work the next 3 days and stuck with the family so i’m trying to create a project… lol. I honestly was going to try some meguiars ultimate polish or chemical guys light metal polish for shits and gigs by hand, unless that’d just cause problems.

Yup, I’d leave it.

Probably too late since it’s installed, but you can send a pic to the seller. Maybe they’ll send a replacement.

just go for the matte look with like a 160 grit. Your foot slipping off a polished pad is not my definition of desirable outcome.

I reached out to ford parts about it, I doubt they’ll help me out but worth a shot. Otherwise I’ll live with it!
