Some angles and pictures do make the front ends look better on the gen 2's but my gen 3 has grown on me

I traded my 15 for a 19 last month. I still like the front end of the Gen 2 better, but overall the cars look very much alike and both look great. If you think one looks great and the other looks ugly take a look at a Camaro.

This thread........

2018+ rear end looks better.
2015-17 front end looks better overall but the 18+ front end does look more aggressive.

I definitely agree Gen 2 front end looks great I think it’s mostly the shape of the hood which doesn’t slope as much as the gen3 and the heat extractors which are much more subtle and not a huge square looking piece as well as the headlight shape which is much cleaner.

Now Gen 3 for sure takes it hands down with the rear. My tail lights look too plain now that the curved 18 ones are out and that factory quad tip diffuser is awesome.

I think we get over looks after we see the car for a while. When I had a gen 1 and gen 2 came out I hated the design of the gen 2 same with gen 3 but now I like them. Heck I would already be driving a gen 3 because of the superior performance if it wasn’t for the fact that the gen 4 is only 2 years away lol.

I'm a little confused here. What the heck is the 'Gen 2', and 'Gen 3' you're talking about, when a '15-'20 is a Gen6???

Generations of chassis code S550. 15-17 is generally considered gen 2, 18+ is gen 3

15’ - 17’ GT is the generation 2 Coyote and 18’+ is generation 3 Coyote. The 18’+ got a revised front fascia along with other revisions/improvements.

For me, the biggest difference and reason I like the Gen 2 bumper overall, is the location of the fog lamps. I like the way they're placed individually on their own at the bottom corners of the bumper, instead of integrated together with the indicator lamps of the Gen 3 bumper. On the Gen 3 rear bumper, what's there not to like about the quad tip exhaust. This is the reason why I modified my Gen 2 bumper to get the quad tip look which I've always loved.

when the 18 first came out, i wasn't in love with the front end. then it grew on me quickly. now i think the 15-17 front end looks good but kind of dated below the bumper. HOWEVER if you do heavy modifications then the 15-17 front end looks better because a GT350 or GT500 front fascia looks much better than with the 18 headlights. the back of the car there's no contest...the 18 is simply better looking.

I like the 2018+ front and rear better from an aesthetics standpoint. IMO the '18+ rear end is vastly improved over the 15-17. The 15-17 front does look great, but now after owning an '18 GT PP1 for the past 1.5 years, the 15-17 looks a bit soft to me. Maybe that's because the lower hood and revised styling of the '18+ is more aggressive as some here have said. Additionally, the update was not all aesthetics: I read that Ford was able to improve front down force and coefficient of drag due to the revised shape, lower hood, and revised splitter.

Depends on the color for me. If it is orange or grabber blue I like the older style better. If it is any other color, the newer ones take the cake.
