I recently installed a full Kooks system, LTH-o/r x pipe-kooks mufflers, I probably wont let the car touch the roads here for atleast another month but once I do ill be sure to post some wot vids. From what I can say now idle is very humble, any type of revving is very raspy and deep, the raspy-ness does over power the deep ness of it though
I ended up adding kooks resonators in to deepen the sound and remove some rasp. Very happy.

I also went with Kook's full system but went with their green catted x-pipe instead. I think the overall sound is deep and organized but not overly raspy. Like everything else in life, sound is also subjective. Here is a video I recorded after install using binaural headphones to give the best representation of what I heard.

Great numbers. It's actually pretty amazing how well the computer deals with altered variables.

After everything, I have to agree with you. I believed the stock computer could compensate and asked that exact question, but was swayed by multiple tuners stating that wasn’t the case and that I needed a tune to get the most potential. The tune with final results (for the price of and with a device) is underwhelming vs. stock tune.

You definitely want a tune. You're honestly fine without one but you do leave a bit on the table as you saw.

I'm glad that I went with the tune ultimately! I really wanted to convey that I felt the stock calibration dealt with the variables well and the tune just cleaned everything up, specifically that my air/fuel ratio was off just a tad in the upper RPMs.

I expected to much, as usual, and thought the results would be at/above 500 slightly. I felt like I didn't get my money's worth initially. That's why I said I was underwhelmed. In the end, as long as my engine is safe, numbers shouldn't mean a thing.

Is it possible to combine Kooks Long Tubes with ARH Exhaust without dealing with the exhaust necking down or having to use weird adapters? Anyone running this setup?

I love the sound of the ARH exhaust so I'm pretty set on that, just not overly impressed with their header design for the Voodoo compared to the Kooks design.

Why?
I’ve been running ARH headers for 4 years with no issues at all.
The kooks headers provide no additional gains over ARH power wise at all.
I prefer the ARH band clamp over the Kooks 2 bolt ball and socket collector as well.
The ball and socket tends to loosen sometimes and I don’t care for the style of collector. As for the step header, it seems pointless on this engine and is just another area of failure because it’s a 2 piece tube and I’ve seen a few failed welds. The ARH is a one piece tube.
So much for the vibration damper. I see dampers on many modern cars and what people seem to not realize is that even stock oem headers crack even with the damper and the section of flex pipe.
I’ve yet to see a ARH with a cracked tube.

As far as power gains go, nobody’s done a header dyno test between all the available headers on a engine dyno. In my opinion the ARH are probably slightly more.
And I’m talking “slightly” as in 2-5 crank hp. Reason is ARH tube size 1-7/8” straight and also longer primary compared to Kooks 1-3/4” to 1-7/8” step and shorter primary.

Until someone does a engine dyno test, well never know. But in all honesty, anyone brand you pick will provide you gains.

Can you maintain the vibration dampeners on the ARH's? That was really smart of them at least. I don't like ball connections either but whatevs. The other thing that people don't always think about it servicability too. I'm pretty sure SW and ARH have zero issues with doing stuff like starter replacements and trans removals for clutch replacements without having to remove the headers.

If one wanted to fit dampers that would be easy on any exhaust.
I can swap starters and pull the trans without removing the ARH.

If you can't feel the vibes as a human being and the parts are solid and won't crack, it's possible the dampers can go. IE: someone who puts an aftermarket exhaust on is going to have a lot higher tolerance for crappy NVH stacking than your typical genteel white glove wearing GT350 customer.

NVH is for pussies. I can’t stand when people bitch about NVH in a sport/muscle car.

Are you using the ARH system including their mufflers? I have used both kooks and arh in the past and arh has always been slightly better quality. I loved the video of the red gt350 with the whole kit. I think his was catted. Seems loud but I would go catless. As long as it is a clean sound...the louder the better IMO.
