  1. Riddle me This Batman

So to skip the 4 pages of fun...I should look at the fuel gauge level, not the miles to e? I just switched to E85 and they are WAY off. I went through a tank in like 4 days lol... Scott
  2. Subwoofer replacement options

Forscan was not used. XM radio and Bluetooth from my phone are what I use. same as before. Something changed...like I said before, I went through 3 different installers. What would forscan do? Not familiar with that.
  3. Subwoofer replacement options

Well I don't think so. The fader has always been in the middle pre and post install. The bass is flat at 0 and the treble is between mid and all the way up. The surround sound mode WAS the best and loudest sound, stock. Surround now is almost useless somehow (compared to stereo). I had to...
  4. Subwoofer replacement options

Yes a Kenwood 500w amp. And we started (installer #1) with tapping the rear speakers but that didn't work so installer #2 (with a forum members help via phone) used the oem rear sub wires. The sub sounds great! but the rest of the system is down on output now...its very strange.
  5. Subwoofer replacement options

If I turn the gain to 0 with no bass...the rest of the b&o speakers have less output...like I said earlier, 20 is what 15 used to be...it’s very weird. Especially since surround sound mode is WORSE... I chalk this up to a loss on “modding” but I still like it due to the increased bass. Just...
  6. Subwoofer replacement options

yeah I just wrote it off. But the sub hits very hard but the rest of the system is down on output. I remember one of the installers saying something about disconnecting something pertaining to sound cancellation. There was a YouTube vid regarding that issue with the s550. I am catless so I only...
  7. Subwoofer replacement options

Well I have to admit that since I had the stealthbox installed...my total volume output went WAY down. Surround sound is worthless and I have to use stereo for any substantial volume. The sub works very well now. But for instance if I use to listen at 15, now has to 20. The b&o system is...
  8. 18” rear w/R888R question

I have always read you will have better traction with a taller sidewall...I thought the R888R might be a good choice while having good cornering characteristics. I could be wrong. I was hoping for a best of both worlds lol. I have never run a 888 so I don’t know but what I have read and seen...
  9. 18” rear w/R888R question

Hey guys, quick question... I will be going e85 soon with roughly 850whp. I was thinking about adding a R888R in 325/30/20 for my current rear wheels. Also debating a 18” rear setup with R888R’s instead of 20”. My car is just a street toy. Will an 18” rear setup mess up the driving dynamics...
  10. When are fuel rails needed? E85

Exactly what they told me...not questioning them in the slightest. But VERY surprised. Thanks guys!
  11. When are fuel rails needed? E85

Was the BAP recommended or required by your tuner? It still baffles me that I was told it isn't "needed". Scott
  12. When are fuel rails needed? E85

I just placed an order with PBD for: 2.7” pulley, tensioner, 1050x’s, new belt and t-stat. I can’t wait! i was pleasantly surprised to hear that a bap and rails weren’t needed with these mods. Kept the cost down. But also surprised at the same time that they weren’t recommended. I guess the...
  13. E85 bug

Hey guys! well I have the corn itch. Currently have full stainless works (catless) with jlt and PBD tune. I want to go to e85. From what have seen/read, the next step before additional cooling would be a 2.65 with rails, injectors and new tune. Anything after that has more supporting mods...
  14. Subwoofer replacement options

100% fixed now. The rear sub wires needed to be tapped for the signal NOT the rear speakers...thanks a TON for all of your help. All good now...lots of bass. Definitely worth the money spent now. Scott
  15. Subwoofer replacement options

Thank you!!!!!!!!!! I really appreciate it. Sounds like it may be a quick fix. So basically change from the rear speaker to the sub speaker or door speaker. Hell, 2 different shops never told me that... trial and error...and more money...and trial and error. lol
  16. Subwoofer replacement options

Well I have been jerked around over the last 2 weeks over this install....getting ripped off and getting something installed that wasn't necessary. I have no idea what I am doing so I cant help. My tech in the back did 90% of the install and he actually did a great job with no technical car...
  17. Subwoofer replacement options

Funny thing is that I actually switched to another amp temporarily because of a bad Kenwood amp. The second installer put a converter for 4 gauge to 8 gauge for the new amp. I wasn't happy with the second amp so I got another Kenwood x502-1 mono that was working properly. When we installed...
  18. Subwoofer replacement options

I installed the JLAudio 12" Stealthbox and a Kenwood 500w amp (2ohms). I have read everywhere that I need to match the head units signal power with the amp GAIN to maximize the sub output. The problem is that when I do the "ear" test for clipping on the sub I cant get it to clip. The gain is...
  19. Subwoofer replacement options

I agree...I preferred the JL amp but where I purchased it...they were out of stock. The Kenwood is fine with 500w rms at 2ohm. Should finish up today hopefully.
  20. Subwoofer replacement options

I am installing the stealthbox and kenwood x502-1 amp today. I am getting my techs in the back to do the install so they don't know details on tuning the amp. There are 3 knobs on the back...1) input sensitivity 2) bass boost (I can figure this out) 3) LPF freguecy in HZ. Are there...
