Ford Performance Tune for 2018+ GT

Sorry- freezing outside so was hard to type and get good pictures. So he is saying the clock (orientation) is wrong, and that it throws the tube up too high, and he is not comfortable pushing the tab down the near two inches it would take to align with the hole. You can see it to the right of the wiring harness in the top picture. The bottom picture I was just trying to capture where the duct connects to the TB. Anyway- says I need to call Ford Performance to either get a new one sent or have them indicate that it is fine to stress the duct by pushing it down that far.

Well if we cant get it straightened out in the morning, I guess I will have to tow it home and finish it here.

Mine is at the shop. They cant finish install. Said the orientation is wrong on the airbox. Afraid to push the slotted part down so far. Anyone run into this?

@Seanuf99 Do the molded ribs line up between the elbow and the MAF housing? I have heard of these parts not being molded together correctly. Maybe you have a bad one?

I also had a big space between the tabs. I would say half as much as yours. You can drive it like that to get it home as long as they uploaded the tune.

That's been listed in this thread a couple of times and I had the same problem. Have them loosen the clamp on the intake tube and throttle body then tighten up the airbox. Get the intake tube lined up as best as they can on the throttle body and then adjust after a few heat cycles.

Stangtime and Stang1087- Thanks for the input. Sorry if I missed it in the thread earlier, was kind of in a slight panic yesterday. I called the shop and gave the guy the information/described in your posts, and he was going to check the alignment and got it when I mentioned readjusting after it heats up a few times. Anyway- hopefully he wraps it up today, then I can take care of any adjustments going forward.

Mine was like this as well. I had to muscle it over and into the throttle body. Tightened it a bit to hold, then muscled it up a little more. Tighten again. Then one more final big push to get it to fit “almost 90%” square. After a few heat cycles I’ll loosen it up and get it flush.

All is well that ends well. Turns out he was being extra cautious. Did a nice job cutting engine cover. And no hood gap

That's irrelevant. Its overall tire diameter not wheel diameter.

Yes you can change the size. It's based on revs per mile, not wheel size.

Just thought I would say-- I think I love this kit. I mean I thought I would like it based on the others' feedback, but was kind of on the fence about it. After the install though, I think the difference is a pretty good better than I anticipated. I think for the guys/gals that have driven a lot more modded/tuned cars, they may not see as much of a difference in the bang for the buck category. I have no regrets, other than if I decide to go all out in a few years and put supercharger on there. And that regret would only be because of the $1k for parts and $350 for labor would be totally lost with the vin lock on the tune. But, not even sure I would regret that either since I will have had a couple of years of fun out of the kit.

I agree with you Seanuf99, this tune has given me everything I wanted over my stock experience and After having it for a year now I haven't wanted to change or adjust a thing about the performance.

I love this kit too.

I've had this kit for over a year, along with 4.09s and truly love the setup! But just keep thinking boost, I really want to put a super charger on but I still have 3 more years of warranty that I'm not willing to throw away.

I'm in the same boat. I've been tempted to boost for a year now. But like you, don't want to step away from factory warranty. I figured this kit would tide me over. I've only driven the car 3x with the kit installed, but I'm happy. I find myself watching IATs like crazy, even though I realize they don't really matter (3/4 degrees above ambient when driving - 10+ degrees above when stopped at a light for a few mins). I need to stop looking haha.

For me, more than anything else is how much smoother shifting is for me.
