Take this for what's it's worth.... Called a dealer I know has local inventory after my fordparts order was cancelled. Supposedly this dealer had 84 filters come in recently. They let a few shops buy half of them and they are down to a handful now and "holding" on to them.

Found this on a GT500 today that only had 2700 miles on it. Hard to tell if it was install error or from heat/pressure collapse. Either way not good! That is the first one I had seen that tore all the way through the media like that.

That does not appear to be a FL2062. Fram filter?

Micro guard maybe?

I think so. Found that part number for a MicroGuard filter on the O'Reillys website for an F150. Seems like the only reviewer was not impressed with the fit inside the housing. I'm guessing the failure was due to poor fit and install.

Have my second GT500 Canister (and filter) on its way now from Tasca. For the ~$20 premium its a no brainer. That gives me three filters on hand. One going on next week pre-track, one for post-track (have a couple coming up) and an extra backup.
I ordered the canister and filter this past Saturday. This is what I received from Tasca earlier today...
Dear Daniel:

Thank you for placing your order with Tasca Parts!

While reviewing your order (Order #174XXX) for processing I've discovered an issue. Part #KR3Z-6A832-A is currently on national backorder with the automotive manufacturer and has no estimated date of resupply. We do not currently have this item in stock at our warehouse and are unable to acquire it at this time.

So I ordered 3xFL-2087s through the ford link the other day and my order got canceled. Went to the dealer today to pick up another part and he asked me “did you place an order for oil filters?” He said “I got four in today if you want them.” So I did take two and left two to not be a complete hoarder. Interesting part though is neither contained the gaskets anymore. Purchased 4 of those at $1.05 a piece. So a heads up maybe they may have remedied the FL-2087 crisis but be advised they may no longer contain the gaskets and those may need to be picked up separately. Secondly, I can say with certainty that I will never have to change my oil more than once a year so no one here on this forum should have to pay some exorbitant price for a FL-2087 oil filter. So if anyone finds themselves in a bind let me know. I’m hoarding for the greater good of all. There’s not a lot of Shelby’s here in Yuma, Arizona.

Thanks guys. Got two. My price was $38.xx I saw $29 and $34 posted earlier in the thread so inflation is real.
Ordered two last night along with 12 pack of oil, dealership called me to say they’re expecting it Friday. $28 each.
