1) Did you upgrade from a Coyote/Mustang before the gt350? Yes, 2017 Mustang GT Perf Pack.
2) Do you track the car? If not, do you feel like this would be as good as a daily car as a standard GT 6speed? No yet, it is a 3rd car for us so the miles are still low. Will take it to the track some...
this is exactly what I did. 2017 GT Perf Pack to GT350 and I'm so happy I did. Hurts the wallet but hopefully make it back long-term. As others said, the GT350 is not about acceleration, so make sure you are good with that. Long term reliability, we shall see. At the end of the day, do what...
Drove mine about 10 miles yesterday, feels good and is smoother for sure.
Rebel, keeping an eye on yours. In case your foreman wants to chat with the one that did my car, tell them to call Patrick at Autonation Littleton Ford Colorado.
here is what they did as documented in the paperwork:
1. Inspected secondary timing chain tensioner for activation from oil fill hole
2. found not to be activated
3. cranked engine over by hand per step 3
4. found no change with secondary tensioner
5. removed both valve covers and inspected...
Got the car back. Definitely seems to drive/idle a tad smoother, but I didn't drive it much so far. More to come
Was in a hurry to get back to work unfortunately so didn't get to rehash it all with them, but based on the docs and their findings, I'm good with it unless we hear otherwise from...
I would think the more "detailed" doc with scope and estimate of each fix would be the correct one, and that aligns with what the foreman of the dealer shop said.
I'll ask again when I go pick it up tomorrow!
I know being one of the first to get fixed is always difficult, but I wanted it...
this is what drives me crazy. the 2 docs contradict themselves in the procedure to fix.
Wonder if there is someone at Ford that can confirm?
doc 1 language on the cylinder head. "affected"?
vs. doc 2 - red line is my car, says nothing about cylinder head.
*IF out of timing (which mine...
logically, wouldn't that make sense? If timing was never off (it didn't slip)...then why would there be cylinder head damage? (i'm not an expert in this stuff!)
1. Here is the language on the 1 doc:
. Replace both the RH and LH Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner, Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Shoes/Guides, and the Secondary Timing Chains. On the affected side(s), replace the Cylinder Head. Please follow the WSM procedures in section 303-01. This...
OK here is my update:
1. I saw tensioner problem in my garage, took to dealer
2. dealer confirmed issue, opened up engine to check timing, timing checked out perfectly per the picture (I only have 800 miles on the 2020)
3. said he replaced everything it said to but would NOT do the cylinder...
thanks y'all
I just switched it to (+) connected inside fuse box (top one in the photo), (-) on the strut tower ground.
Hooked it up and should be fine now.
so it is not OK to put the positive directly on the battery and negative on the ground with a CTEK, y'all are saying go through the fuse box everytime now? :)
