I just noticed the two oil seperators when I got an up close look under the hood on Monday. I do not recall reading about them in the owners manual supplement. Are you supposed to service them every oil change? I assume after some period of time the oil will have to be removed from the container.

They come stock with oil separators? That's cool.

I added one to my '15 GT and I check/dump the excess out about every 500-750 miles, to answer your question they are a serviced item. You could probably get away with only emptying them at each oil change but I'll defer to GT350 owners.

Just can't get enuff!
For the Track Tour, they stated they added a pair to all the cars tracked. Preventive measures.

Thanks for the info! So if Ford thought them necessary is it something we should consider as an upgrade?

That's a LOT of track miles, so the separators are justified. Perhaps not so important if you are doing 2-3 track days a year.

19xx miles..

That's barely a single endurance race :)

No really, that's only about 16-20 hours of track time. NBD. Interesting they added them though. These cars will probably be eventually released for sale so I can understand some precautionary measures but it's not like they're going to have 20k track miles when they do. Would not having separators on there create that much sludge if they changed the oil every couple thousand?

These are all pre-production so they all go to the crusher or a museum.

Take a look at how many preproduction Bosses were released for sale. (A bunch)

These cars aren't prototypes (which yes, get destroyed or stored), they're just pre-production. They'll recoup some money from these cars for sure.

Really? Never heard that before. These exchange hands frequently or go into someone's private collection?

Well, PP0001 owns a couple.

The owners of PP and MP cars turn up on forums. I think people that get them tend to hang on to them though.

It does and people squabble over the exact meaning of the MP and PP initials all day long. Regardless, the Certificates of Authenticity say "pre-production" right on them and that's good enough for me.

hmm, very cool indeed then. So do they come with like a couple hundred/thousand miles or do they get a fresh motor and reset the ODO?
