Right on! Sounds like you’re in good hands. I’ll bet your buddy’s car is a blast to drive or even ride in.
I’m waiting to find out. He’s broken near everything except the motor. He’s expecting to do that this year lol he’s been working with ESS to find the limits of their products. Great guy

That’s who tuned mine. Thankfully, all of my experiences with them have been good. The only gripe I have is, they lock the tuning device to force customers back to them for future tuning needs.
I’m not of the belief Alex is all knowing, but his videos have taught me quite a bit. Since it’s a daily, I’m more hesitant to try a lesser known company with less experience. I’m sure there are some great ones, but reliability is my main need. I’ve heard stories of all of them, good and bad. Except Bama. Only bad for them lol

Cut your engine oil change period in half, and run one of these:

I understand about cutting your oil interval in half, but tell me why I need this pump for E85 in my Mach 1. I have the GT500 fuel system. I don’t know what the difference is between this and the Mach 1 fuel system pump, but just give me an explanation. My car is primarily track use NA E85 so I’m not here for longevity but then again I don’t want it to break down at a track event that I paid $$$ for. I put about 5k per year on this vehicle. I have both 93 and E85 tunes from Wengerd Performance. I store the vehicle during the winter months anything less than 40° in Ohio. The vehicle is stored with 93 and sometimes I’ll use 93 if the class requires it.

This video is a really good demonstration of how much cleaner E85 burns over regular pump gas. I’ll take E85 all day, everyday!

If that is true, why are there also videos about excess carbon build up on engine rebuilds after e85? Not arguing, trying to learn as much as I can here

I’ve seen the opposite. I saw a video several years ago where a guy tore down two identical mower engines, one on e85 and one pump gas and the e85 engine was spotless inside while the pump gas engine had normal carbon deposits.

bad tune maybe?

Potentially. Just trying to learn the pros and cons before I go a certain route. Biggest con I’ve really seen is the lower mpg. I broke down the math. It ends up being the same or very close to 93 over the course of a month and year. But that does come up every now and then.

I’ve only been running e85 for about two weeks but so far my mpg is about the same, maybe 1-1.5mpg Lower than 93. Obviously e85 contains less energy than 93 so I credit my tuner with running the engine more efficient.
There is a huge price difference near me between e85 and 93. E is 2.85-2.99 a gallon, 93 is over $5. It’s a no brainer for me.
