Exactly! I find much better information here usually. Seems like e85 will be just fine. Now I need to decide what to do first. Tune or wheels and tires. I’ll figure it out. Taking my time, it’s all a process.
Thanks for the info. I’ve only seen a few videos showing engine rebuilds and “how bad e85 can be on the engine”. Doesn’t mean that was the only factor of course. Easy to make a video showing what you want without giving all the facts though.
Our beef goes back to petty nonsense and I refuse to give people like him business. He sells ESS though. And fore fuel systems and tires. His car is fast though. He paid dealerships off to cover his transmission twice before he went another route. I believe somewhere between 1000-1100 to the...
Potentially. Just trying to learn the pros and cons before I go a certain route. Biggest con I’ve really seen is the lower mpg. I broke down the math. It ends up being the same or very close to 93 over the course of a month and year. But that does come up every now and then.
If that is true, why are there also videos about excess carbon build up on engine rebuilds after e85? Not arguing, trying to learn as much as I can here
I’m not of the belief Alex is all knowing, but his videos have taught me quite a bit. Since it’s a daily, I’m more hesitant to try a lesser known company with less experience. I’m sure there are some great ones, but reliability is my main need. I’ve heard stories of all of them, good and bad...
They all have good and bad experiences. Reading through that I can see you clearly don’t like Lund and that’s okay. I’ll do my research. Lund has the biggest name out there right now and have been responsive with me before spending a dime on their products yet
I’m waiting to find out. He’s broken near everything except the motor. He’s expecting to do that this year lol he’s been working with ESS to find the limits of their products. Great guy
That’s my plan. Lund with the LRX device. And a buddy has an extra fuel pump I can have just in case. Helps to have knowledgeable friends. (He’s at 930 to the wheels and does all of his own work. I’d say he’s found almost every limit of these cars at this point lol)
In that case, may be worth waiting to do. I just got the car a few weeks ago, taking mods slow. Maybe e85 should wait until next year. Add that and the fuel pump at the same time.
Side note- jealous of all the tools you’ve got lol
Good to know! I drive 25 miles each way for work, so between my distance and potential long term issues, I’m hesitant. Definitely tuning at least 93 to get the shifts better. I have the A10.
How long have you all been running e85? Prefer non boosted answers.
Considering tune, but it’s my daily. Would like an idea on a timeframe for e85 vs 93 (roughly 200k seems to be the normal)
I’m a fan of DWS06. $50 difference per tire between 275/40/19 to 265/35/20. Breaking down estimates, going to 19s right now would cost about $500 more than just replacing current tires to same stock size.
