So I've read a lot of this forum, and I've pretty much nailed down my upgrade path to a GT350 IM and tune, maybe catted LTH down the road. I want it to run reliably and for a long time. I understand there are always risks with mods - but there are often ways to mitigate that risk. I see notes here and there about mods that are good to support reliability in the motor, especially at higher RPM. I'm hoping to compile a somewhat comprehensive list of those mods and could use some help.

What I have essentially figured out so far (and I know I may get these wrong, this platform is new to me):

ATI Balancer
Upgraded OPG and Crank sprocket?
And then MMR just bumped a post about a "High RPM Pulse Ring"

My goal for my car is a DD and weekend track (road course) warrior. I love doing HPDE days, and so it will spend time north of 7000RPM after the tune.

I know that a better oil cooler is generally a good idea for tracking the car, so that's on the list, too, but that's generic, and not specific to this motor.

I'm not in a huge hurry, and I'll probably start with the reliability mods and then do the power adders after.

Opg/ crank gear, ATI or MMR damper, MMR pulse ring is a good start. I would also add Boss 302 Primary & Secondary chain tensioners, MMR high flow oil pick up tube, MMR billet chain guides, MMR secondary chain tensioner, MMR billet secondary chain guide, and a MMR light weight water pump pulley if interested. I am heading the same route, purchasing the parts slowly and will put them all in at the same time. Will do the pulse ring though when I need a new clutch and replace the flywheel at the same time.

Rough cost?

Not really too much, depends on goals. 1500-2000 for the front of the motor rebuild plus 350-600 in labor cost. If staying n/a adding cams of high rpm build for reliability reasons these parts are ideal. The billet guides alone you can maintain steady timing under higher rpm and pull more timing plus opg/cg and damper are common parts to replace if going fi anyways. Rest are fairly cheap insurance compared to buying or rebuilding a new motor due to failure of gears or tensioners and even guides.

I am curious on this as well. I plan on adding boost soon and would rather spend $ now vs having something break. I have already ordered the Innovators West balancer, MMR OPG, MMR CG, MMR high flow oil tube, BOSS 302 primary tensioners (someone told me there was no need to upgrade the secondary tensioners as they are already the strongest made), MMR SHD secondary chains and ARP bolts for the chain guides, balancer and tensioners. First I've read of someone upgrading the pulse ring, water pump pulley or billet guides. Are they worth it/needed?
