Bullitt doesn't have one AFAIK (and I looked). I think it's still a 'derived' temp, probably from a lookup table or algorithm; would be better than nothing, though.

IIRC, you need to get oil up to about 250degF for a while to boil combustion byproducts, mostly water, out of the sump to prevent sludge buildup.

IIRC (I haven't watched in a few days), they made a point about not driving hard until everything gets warmed-up because of the different rates of expansion of the various metals and alloys, whether using conventional or synthetic. My late father was a former auto shop teacher, factory rep for Ford and restorer and he was adamant about that too.

The one thing I wish my Bullitt had--and it should--is an oil temp gauge. I know you can install one, if you remove the vacuum (I think) gauge, but it's a 'derived' output, not an actual sender and gauge. At the least, I take it easy until the coolant is up to temp. The car does seem noisier until it gets warmed-up as well
One of these days I am going to swap out the center gauge pack for a GT350 pack that has oil temp and pressure. Also recently learned that it is not an actual oil temp, but derived, so I am less motivated. I assumed it was a digital signal from the canbus, but seems not to be. I wonder if the coolant and cyl head temps are also derived? I also wish the gauges had numbers on them, and not just lines.

Agreed on getting the car up to running temps before getting on it. Just better on all counts. Also good to driving slow or let the car idle and cool after hard driving. Is an old habit from when I had SAABs. The Turbo did not have a cooing jacket, just oil pumped through. I would sit and let it idle to let the turbo cool to help prevent coking, but that was back pre synthetic days.

Don't think so. More likely, OP is derived from them, MAF, RPM and mixture from ECU, etc. IOW, it's an 'educated guess.'
