They should've opted for gunmetal to cover it up. ;)You have no idea how many complaints dealers get about brake dust from people who don't understand what brake dust is. People think brake dust means that their cars are broken, and people have tried to get cars returned under lemon laws for brake dust.
The Brembos produce a larger-than-usual amount of brake dust. Ford didn't want to have to deal with the headache of having thousands of people try to claim their cars were defective because of brake dust. The easiest answer? Give it wheels that don't show brake dust. The end.
