I agree, ford doesn't officially acknowledge the 64.5 as the first year of the mustang, the first year according to ford is the 65, so that would make the 60th a 2025.

If I remember correctly, they have wavered between 64 and 65 when convenient.

Except that Ford did the 40th anniversary edition on the 2004 model year, so they have played off 1964 before. I believe they used 2015 as the 50th to coincide with the release of S550 more than anything else. Since 2024 is here and nothing has been announced, I would expect they’ll use 2025 for any special 60th package if they choose to do so.

If they do anything, I suspect it will be unveiled on April 17, 2024. We may not be able to buy it until the 25 model year, but wll should see it in a few weeks.

Agreed, that would follow what they did for S550 and the unveiling of the 50th package. It was actually unveiled in 2014, just not available until the 2015 model year.

I still have the 20 Years of Mustang poster that the dealer gave me when I bought my 84 GT. So I'd guess the 60 yr car will come out sometime in the summer as a 24 model yr. But maybe a 25...

So an “appearance” package is coming but I wonder if they will be sequentially numbered like the true 50th LE’s…. Or we won’t see another sequentially numbered Anniversary Edition until the “100th” year of the Mustang…

and who here will be around for the 100th Mustang Anniversary… 😁

Good question, I guess we’ll find out more at the unveiling. I guess I’d be surprised if they did something like they did with the 50th LE’s. That seems more like a 50, 75, 100 year thing to me. But I guess we’ll see

I don't know about the topic at hand, but I'm increasingly amazed that I'm about a week or so from starting my ninth year of ownership of my '15. I'm not sure where the time went...

(...and it hasn't clicked 14K miles.)

I also just saw another post that S650 owners will have access to an update on or around 4/17. They need to have their Sync4 automatic updates turned on to receive it. Some are speculating that they’re going to drop the gauge cluster from the original 1965 Mustang as an option (in addition to the Foxbody cluster that is already available).

The last I read the S650’s sales were down 17% from last year. They need something to boost interest!

I’ve noticed at least here they’ve brought back cash and finance incentives. My closest dealer has been moving them pretty well. Couple others have some inventory build up. We’re getting into buying season here, so we’ll see if they start moving
