IIt took nearly 4 years to finally kill that damn car, lol. That piece of crap lasted me nearly 300,000 miles
Nice! You've got 100K on me, but the Honda shows no signs of quitting yet. I'm planning on replacing it with a new(er) Fusion or Escape... when it reaches 20 years, or at the next major repair bill.

I could be wrong but it might just be the high torque engine that always you to creep along like that. I never heard of creep assist.

doesn't creep mode let you slow all the way done to 1mph in 1st and 2nd gear without pushing the clutch back in without stalling

heck i can drive all standard cars by letting the clutch out slowly without gas, nothing new

Hill Assist is simply where the car senses that you are on a hill and applies the brakes to hold you steady until you've let in enough clutch to go. As I have driven standards all my life, it's the first thing I disabled, but it's a great training aid. It is a designed feature.

So called "creep mode" is simply the fact that the car has so much torque that you can leave it in first gear and release the clutch and it won't stall out. It's not a specifically designed feature.
See the attached table from the 2015 ECM, see how the ECM increases torque when rpm drops below 650 rpm and pedal position is really closed (or almost closed), also notice how the ECM adds torque at really low peddle position almost as if helping prevent a stall.

So there really is a creep assist in that the ECM increases engine torque when rpm drops below 650rpm and pedal position is closed (2.5%)

Creep assist is more than just the engine torque. The engine holds itself at 900rpm and if you go up hill will even self apply throttle to maintain your speed.

Yes, it's true. You can just easy up off the clutch and the car will not stall. I think it's called "Hill Assist". Look for it in the driver info center.
Hill assist holds the rear brakes for couples seconds until you moving...prevents you from rolling back into someone.

I could be wrong but hill assist just holds the brake on for a second or two while on a hill to prevent you from rolling back (at least thats what it did on my subaru)
Exactly. I love hill assist.

Lol, I can't believe what I'm reading. Not trying to be an a$$ but there's no such thing as creep mode. It's simply the fact that the car is fuel injected that it crawls in first gear. When the engine senses load and its at idle it applies more throttle, kind of like an old choke cable which is what you guys are sensing.

I feel like I lost brain cells from this, and it has absolutely nothing to do with hill start assist.

Ok, I get it. This is a forum and we all share our knowledge we gain through our experiences. That said, why do "we" ask questions when the car is sitting in our driveway and we have been a member of this forum (leading me to believe that we have had the car since around that time) for close to a year.

Go drive the car or read the manual.

"We", as a society, are so lazy that we expect someone else to answer the questions for us as opposed to engaging our brain and thinking through a problem or picking up a book, reading, correlating, synthesizing, and then coming up with a solution.

this is a common feature in all manuals - coming from a european, i've never experienced a manual that dosen't do this.

Lift off the clutch slowly until you get to 'bite' point and then release slowly and the car will move along slowly at a low speed normally ~5mph. Great for traffic crawling etc. With high powered cars you can do it in 2nd gear also, although you will need a bit more throttle to get you over the bite point without stalling. Moving off in second gear is typically more fuel efficient too :)

Ok there, turbo! I said in the original post that I am not able to take the car out until the weekend and that I was simply curious about something that I keep seeing mentioned in posts. I just wanted to know if there was such a thing as an actual feature or not.

As far as whether or not I ever read the manual, I'll leave that for you to wonder, since it's clear you've already determined that I didn't.

But I'll make sure to check with you next time I have a question so I don't appear "lazy." Is that acceptable?

Exactly. I just thought, based off of some of the wording I saw on the forum, that there was maybe more to it.... like a specific feature that did more. Hence me asking if anyone knew, lol.

No there is actually a designed feature that applies appropriate throttle when letting out on the clutch to keep the car from stalling.
