I fail to see how either of those two issues have any relevance with each other. One is an intentional subversion of federal law, the other is accidental.

I've been debating posting this, but I think this thread opens the door.

https://www.yahoo.com/autos/armed-epa-agents-come-car-180000514.html

" Some automotive publications have borderline celebrated this move. We won’t because we’ve been watching with concern as the EPA has moved from hitting big parts manufacturers and resellers, working its way down to small performance shops and dealerships. What’s next are private enthusiasts at their homes."

Just curious, what does mandated mean?

Not saying we should all go delete our cars, or that it's good for our environment, but let's not pretend EVs don't pollute worse than ICE cars, and the elimination of ICE isn't being done on purpose, for a specific cause. And that cause absolutely 100% is not to "protect the environment".

Had a Cobb Stage 3 kit and tune on my 2016 Focus ST. I liked it, worked well. I had zero issues and it was my DD. Then one day I went to check for an update and noticed the stage 3 tunes had disappeared. I think this might help explain why.

Not the point of my post and would be better served in its own thread.

Not the point, but it's a fair comparison. From the EPAs own website:

"EPA developed the Green Vehicle Guide to help you find information on vehicles that are more efficient and less polluting."

https://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/learn-about-green-vehicles

I'd hazard a guess a Cobb tuned Focus is significantly less polluting than any Tesla over the entire life cycle of the vehicle, including manufacturing and disposal.

Wonder if the EPA has ever heard the phrase, pot meet kettle...

the dollar fine amount is a lot, but the things the epa wants them to with their product is ridiculous
