I looked into that and at the time my good 'ol pals at AC said that the decklid would not support the wing and the downforce it generates at speed.

I hope the person who did this knew what they got themselves into. Who knows, maybe just another C/C JO
I saw that person post those pictures on Fakebook. He mentioned they told him of their concerns, but he chose to risk it anyway.

As long as it provides enough down force for the Starbucks drive-through I would be good

Sure, might as well throw a back seat in the car too.

Same guy that bought the OEM wing shown in post #123. He added an Anderson CF decklid as well.

Personally, I don't like the looks of the CF deck lid.
Me either KB. Hey, today’s the day buddy. I’m excited for you.

Yep, it's on it's way down from San Antonio, Jaime. I've watched multiple Toob clips on the process and already have my list of tools. The plan is to take the stock one off this morning then it will be ready for the trim swap over first thing tomorrow. FedBox probably won't bring the package until later this evening (You know I'm an early to bed, early to rise old bastid..<smiling>) so I hope to have the replacement installed by about 1000 manana. <fingers crossed>

It's Christmas in July for sure because the Python will be here Thursday. <grinning like a little kid> Thanks to you and Terrance both, Jaime. Man, I can't wait to actually see what it feels like in my hands and, can't stop looking at the photo. :=)

Now, if Mother Nature would just stop with the RAIN already, I'd be even happier. It's dropped way off yesterday and today but we've had nearly fifteen inches in the last couple of weeks. Enough is enough.

Given the outboard location of the dogbones directly over the lid seams and supporting body seal/shelf underneath it, I find it difficult to believe that the OEM metal deck lid would fair any better than the CF one.

If the mounting points were inboard where the lid bridges the three sides, I'd be much more concerned.

Besides, let's be honest, if we're really worried about 500 lbs of distributed load (one for each leg so 250 lbs of load on each side) then there'd be some sort of direct structure through to the chassis.

In summary, I'm not certain the track wing and associated loads at speed are any better suited by flimsy metal in the OEM lid either. BOTH are going to deflect and squish the trunk seal as it loads, and from there it's a matter of whether the dogbone footrprint will overwhelm and fail on CF before it would materially fail on thin gauge metal. The metal has the advantage that it will weep and give warning signs whereas the CF will most likely crack and fail either once or for a short number of loads.

If we're all worried about downforce loading, then it should have stanchions from the wing through to the frame.

Would prefer to shop local unless someone can vouch for this company?
I know this company. They are close to my shop and a friend of mine is one of the owners. They have at least 300k sq ft of warehouse space. They often get stuff from OEMs.

They have 3 sales reviews on ebay which is a huge red flag, considering there’s multiple sellers with the exact same product and promo pictures. I’ve seen this movie before and it usually ends with a rushed crap Chinese product and the seller disappears when you have an issue.

Oops, I though you were talking about this eBay item:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/154523625950

My bad

I'm not going to comment on the price (the market is a crazy thing), but I will be looking at their spoilers when I go over there for lunch next week. I have a customer that I just sold a set of CFTP wheels to who wants a wing. If I can't get him one from one of my sources I told him I'd look at these for him.

Oh lol you’re talking about the guy who just tripled his asking price for damaged products.
