Why would the Ford diagram at the dealer I went to show three different part #s for the deck lid, one with no spoiler, said holes need to be drilled, second one for base spoiler third one for large wing, no notation for holes needing to be drilled on the last two?The lid will not come drilled. You would be better off finding a white decklid in a junkyard somewhere and then drilling as opposed to buying a new unpainted lid and then having to drill your own holes and then get it painted.
Best in your efforts!
I have never heard of a decklid that is predrilled for any wing. If they were, why would they custom drill our CFTP decklids (and do a horrible job i might add) at flat rock? Why would the Ford diagram at the dealer I went to show three different part #s for the deck lid, one with no spoiler, said holes need to be drilled, second one for base spoiler third one for large wing, no notation for holes needing to be drilled on the last two?
I will have the body shop who will do the work drill before painting. Looks like a three yr old drilled those holes What a shame for a 100k car!I have never heard of a decklid that is predrilled for any wing. I hope you are right, but any time anyone ordered a decklid to add a wing (GT350R), they had to drill it themselves.
Below is an image (thanks @Big John ) that shows our CFTP decklids hand drilled and not primed and painted holes.

I agree. My previous post was intended to help, I would be shocked if the hoods come pre-drilled. My CFTP is in the body shop having the holes addressed and other paint defects and fit/finish concerns corrected now.I will have the body shop who will do the work drill before painting. Not sure but will order the one for the large wing just to make sure its the right one.Is it possible that the CFTP rear deck lid has more reinforcements to withstand the 550 pounds of downforce in the corners...?
Thanks Tom, has anyone not had some sort of paint issue, I have had lots of exotic cars and have never had paint issues or body fit problems like I have had with both the 17 gt350 and the 20 gt500. Who does the final inspection on these cars, he or she should be fired!!I agree. My previous post was intended to help, I would be shocked if the hoods come pre-drilled. Early on, there was a lot of the same complaints with the GT350s. The answer was that the Mustangs do not get any special attention pertaining to fit/finish. I believe the Lincolns do, but not Mustangs (yes, GT350, GT500s are just mustangs) do not. Thanks Tom, has anyone not had some sort of paint issue, I have had lots of exotic cars and have never had paint issues or body fit problems like I have had with both the 17 gt350 and the 20 gt500. Mine did not look like this at all. The holes were much cleaner and no marks in the paint.I will have the body shop who will do the work drill before painting. Looks like a three yr old drilled those holes What a shame for a 100k car!
I hope my shop finds the same, but this isn't one instance. Others have reported the same. I asked my shop to leave the wing and mounts off the car for the completion of my Xpel.Mine did not look like this at all. The holes were much cleaner and no marks in the paint.
Well, that's the trade off with a $75K+ Mustang (let alone a $100K+) vs. the price equivalent product, from even a, call it, "sub-exotic" like Porsche. The latter has an order of magnitude more attention to detail from build to QC/QA to delivery. Thanks Tom, has anyone not had some sort of paint issue, I have had lots of exotic cars and have never had paint issues or body fit problems like I have had with both the 17 gt350 and the 20 gt500.
