Just seeing this but the answer always comes back to keeping your car haha
My feelings toward the Mustang come in waves. Right now, I like them again šŸ˜†
My biggest gripe is the weight but you sure can still make them fast. Just gonna go through tires and brakes faster than others. I do appreciate their simplicity though.

Just to update the thread. it’s been a busy summer and not much track action

recently added Center hood vents from Race Louvers.

my goal for the year was to buy a roll bar and a seat+harness+ HANS device.
I got the roll bar (Watson Chromoly 4pt)
And I just got my seat delivered.

I am registered for an SCCA event next month on Jefferson Circuit at Summit point. I doubt the seat will be in by then. But I do plan to do the roll bar install this week. im most like going to do the HOD open track day at NJMP Lighting course the following week.

If all goes well November will be very very fun with Summit Point Main with NASA and then Road Atlanta with MVP Track time. I’ll be lucky to squeeze a VIR event in December.

also I located a low mileage 3.55 torsen in Raleigh for a great price so I’m hoping I can make the drive on Friday to pick it up

Hey same seat! You'll love it. I do recommend a lower back cushion.

For the roll bar install, get yourself a cobalt 1/2" drill bit; it'll save you a lot of time. And most importantly, get some drill stops. Those will prevent the bit from getting sucked downward and chewing up your brake line.

lol noted sir. I read your write up on TMO or here a couple weeks ago and added the lumbar support to the shopping list. Same with the drill stops. When I asked you on TMO a few months so I ordered them. Should be good to go for install. Thanks man for all the help

Ive got 2 loaded pumpkins with 3.73+torsen in Manassas if that's to your liking.
Thanks for the offer sir but I currently have 3.73 torsen. Just want a different ratio

But... isn't it cooler to do it in a Mustang? Capable it is but the Corvette will always carry the stigma of mid-life crisis in my mind. Don't think I can ever do it.

What gear ratio are you targeting. I have 3.55s in the Torsen, but I think that's only compatible with the auto trans. 3.31?

I have thought about selling so many times recently...I think I just want something new. Considering a C6GS or C7GS as the consumables cost is about the same but to get it to where my mustang already is would be even more money. Cheapest route is to simply keep what I have.
@Ewheels try carrying spares, a jack, jack stands, ramps, and a fully canopy to your next trackday in a corvette šŸ˜‚

When it comes down to it, the extra practicality of the mustang is worth it for us mortals who can't justify purchasing a trailer and truck :)

At times I've debated on switching to a Camaro, but other than a ZL1 1LE, I don't believe it yields a big enough upgrade for me to justify selling the stang. They come with the same high oil temp issues we have FFS šŸ˜‚

Drove to Raleigh yesterday and picked up 3.55 Torsen. Finally.
Now @shogun32 …do you have a 18+ driveshaft in your parts warehouse ? Lol

Will catch up later on progress with the car but for now I’ll share with you my fastest lap of 1:43:40 from Road Atlanta this past weekend. I’m still without a laptop so can’t do data overlays yet. Car was amazing until the last two sessions Sunday. This track is my favorite so far and will plan this trip every year. MVP track time is a great organization. Kumhos were amazing through the entire session. I know where I can find time. There were several laps where I had a predicted time of a low 40 but soon as I ran into traffic going into 10A or 11, it went away. Most money I’ve spent on gas in 4 days lol
