Politics has never been my strong suit, but I would hope that the majority of the people in the world and in this case the factory workers would take pride in what they do and would never think of doing anyone wrong.
It’s not even possible to sabotage engine production as a line worker. Only controls engineers could pull it off, and anything out of spec would be likely be caught in audits.

No kidding, I'd like to see what would happen to someone if they got caught. The criminal penalties for industrial sabotage are quite severe.

That said, let's get back to real discussion. This is ridiculous.

My comment about possible sabotage was serious, after all it happens at Tesla.

"Subject: Some Concerning News

I was dismayed to learned this weekend about a Tesla employee who had conducted quite extensive and damaging sabotage to our operations. This includes making direct code changes to the Tesla Manufacturing Operating System under false usernames and exporting large amounts of highly sensitive Tesla data to unknown third parties.

The full extent of his actions are not yet clear, but what he has admitted to so far is pretty bad. His motivation is that he wanted a promotion that he did not receive. In light of these actions, not promoting him was definitely the right move."
Nah, that's just your average everyday Chinese spy. They couldn't care less about V8's.

Canucks are too busy drinking beer and playing hockey. They only thing they sabotage every year is the Senators chances of winning the Stanley Cup.

*update* Ford UK claiming 2000rpm rattle is ‘characteristic’ of the car and will not be attempting to make any repairs.

This was an engineer or programmer, which is clear from the code change and data dump. And they were caught. The coyotes have had ticks for almost 8 years, and rattles for over a year. If this were a manufacturing tolerance issue, they would have found it in less than 30 days. In my company, this sort of issue we have 14 days to locate the issue, 30 days for a fix to be developed, and full implementation (including field repair program) by 60 days. Environmentalists aren’t sabotaging your engine assembly.

In that case I would keep a close eye on your oil filter for copper or metal shavings and bore scope the cylinders to look for cylinder scoring. The down side to this is if you have the engine replaced under warranty it's highly likely the new engine will have similar issues as there is no change to the new engines being produced as far as we know.

It really takes the enjoyment out of the car but if you plan on leaving the engine stock, just drive it and enjoy it. When the engine gets worse then warranty should take over maybe by then Ford will have come up with a solution and you will get a revised design.

@Andy13186 My GT with 18K miles has the slight rattle while revving it as well. I have Ceratec added to the oil and it got rid of the ticking at idle and during revving but this rattle is still there. Does this mean my engine is being damaged?

I really dont know, I actually decided to just drop mine off at the dealer for the rattle and ill let you guys know what they say tomorrow. Probably something minor or possibly a normal characteristic. Mine goes away when warm so I dont think its a big deal.

Car seems to run great when warm.
