Factory fill at Flat Rock is only 5W-20, No additive!I would vote for leaving the factory fill for atleast 2500-3000 miles. I had my first oil change done at the dealership on my 16' at 1200 miles and wallaa started ticking. I think the factory fill comes with an additive already for break in.
Ford XL-17I doubt the factory fill has any special additives if it did Ford would offer it over the shelf and put this ticking issue to rest. But who knows it's all speculation on the consumers end.
Correct, that is what my engine states. Dealership does the oil changes and that is whats on the paperwork.Factory fill at Flat Rock is only 5W-20!
They do not put an additive in at Flat Rock. XL-17 has been long gone for many years.Correct, that is what my engine states. Dealership does the oil changes and that is whats on the paperwork.
The oil from factory is amber, just like after an oil change, any XL-17 you would know, its thick and black, like sludge.Ford XL-17
If you want to add XL-17, just let your car idle in the driveway for a few days after a fresh oil change. There! Now you have XL-17 in your oil.The oil from factory is amber, just like after an oil change, any XL-17 you would know, its thick and black, like sludge.
LOL.. I ran a bottle from 1000-2500 miles.. went full synthetic at 2500 .. tick doesn't seem to be there any moreIf you want to add XL-17, just let your car idle in the driveway for a few days after a fresh oil change. There! Now you have XL-17 in your oil.
