More like a twilight zone ufo sound. Present even just cruising. Gets worse as rpms go up.

It goes away when I place my hand over the resonator

Like a metallic howling type sound? This is what I had on mine with otherwise stock system. It is all hollow with perforated piping inside after all. Brought more sound closer to the cabin.

I wanna say I heard similar on mine. All hollow inside and the casing gets into resonance. Since the placement of the pipes inside could vary slightly plus the welding, maybe another one will behave a little different. Or maybe once all the soot starts building up, it will dampen it a little bit and change.

you would definitly know, and youd be pissed lol. the best way to describe it is the whole suitcase becomes a large tuning fork constantly vibrating. a little noise would be understandable, but the vibration is all you hear at highway speeds. you can cleary hear it over the exhaust at idle. totally unexceptable. theres no way anyone would enjoy this if everyone one of them made this noise.

Yep Mine does it too.
Took of the H-Pipe and used it with stock active exhaust on my Bullitt.
wanted it to be more quiet but this is worse than stock. Got the metallic sound as well.
Might just go for borla switchfire?.

so I have just had this fitted and I’m finally quite happy with this setup….

I have a 2020 mustang Bullitt all stock except this resonator.
When stock I liked the sound but found quiet mode too quiet and normal a little loud ( I’m getting old I know ).

I then decided to try a steeda H pipe. Ok it sounded great but I wasn’t happy that the sound wasn’t so refined or smooth. It just sounded raw. At high rpm it was great but at low rpm I didn’t like the sound, so I gave this a shot.

ok the car is much quieter than the h pipe but I have to admit it sounds better than completly Stock.
I have the active exhaust in track mode all the time and the balance of sound is perfect. It sounds super smooth and refined. Sound like those old 302 Windsor engines from the 60s.

if your young you want the loudest but as you get older it’s not always the case.

I would probably recommend an Axel back with this setup just to make it a little louder but I can’t argue with the sound.
It has a hollow metallic sound at the moment but I’m almost certain this will diminish and get louder as the baffles start to carbon up.

cheers

I had cattless lth, steeda H pipe resonator delete, and roush axle backs before I put this on.
Like you said, the h pipe sounds good at idle, under 1800 rpms, and wot, but in-between it just loud and unrefined.
This resonator did clean a lot of that harshness and rasp out, and noise level went from a 10 to a 4 maybe 5. It's actually a perfect balance. I do hear the hollow metallic sound, that I can deal with. Mine has a secondary noise that is absolutely embarrassing. It's a loud woowoowoowoo sound above the exhaust. Think of a tuning fork amplified by a microphone.
I've been trying to get this resolved with cj pony parts and borla. I'm not asking for a return, only an exchange but they keep giving me the run around. I've been having it installed for almost 2 weeks and 600 miles, and the secondary sound is driving me insane. Even my teenage daughter asked me what that horrible noise was just cruising at 65mph. Just frustrated.

Can you take it off and give it a shake ?.
Sounds like something could be loose on the inside?.
or it could be air passing over it under the car.
I’ve noticed it hangs low down and have scraped it a couple of times.

I had it Uninstalled and reinstalled. It's solid. You can hear it at idle. Watch the video above where I put my hand on the resonator and it stops. It's much louder on the road. I think the piping inside is vibrating against the suitcase ever so slightly

Yeh, looks like sound dynamics. It’s resonating at a certain pitch making it vibrate. Even a larger blob of weld inside could cause this.
hmmmm…. Just for a test why don’t you purchase a large diameter jubilee clip, metal of course.
tighten it up right around the suitcase. It may well stop the harmonics.

Thought about this. Or exhaust wrap. But would only be a temporary bandaid. If they don't warranty it then I guess I'm going to have to do more to show them that it's not right. No way they can say thats how it's supposed to sound over a phone clip. In person it's just bad.
