I say bring it in and get it fully diagnosed at your dealer, RSKTAKR. Then, PM me with your info so I can escalate this for you as well. Send me your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can loop in the customer service manager for your area.I have a PP car and it has the slight grind going into 3rd as well. I have to take it in to get the oil changed in another 1500 miles. If Ford will actually do something about it I will be sure and say something to the dealer so something can be done at the same time. This is really a bunch of shit I don't care to deal with all over again. I was one of the first people in the KC area to have the clutch, trans and clutch pedal problems on my 2011 GT, I took the car to the dealership and they tried to tell me that I just cant drive a manual trans, then all the bolts backed out of the pressure plate and the clutch basically exploded in the bell housing. Then the MT-82 shot craps in another 500 miles, then the pedal assembly had to be replaced right after the trans was fixed... all under 6k miles after I bought the car brand new. My brand new car was at the dealership for almost 2 months straight to have all of this replaced while I was paying on the car and driving a 6 banger charger. After everything was done the trans still had a whine. I am HOPING Ford will be able to fix this but based on my previous experiences, it seems like pulling teeth would be LOTS easier.
I've updated your comments in the case notes, DiEzel. I see the CSM left you a voicemail. I recommend following up with him, and keeping him in the loop.Just got told by my Service Manager that Ford hasn't released any parts for repair yet so they have to wait for a compete replacement. Cannot go after complete replacement until Wednesday (Some report timeline thing... IDK) - Sounds like complete unit is backordered... So - No ETA..
Said the transmission would be repairable if they had access to parts, But did mention lots of metal in the system.. So - No problems on the complete replacement - Just want it yesterday.
Today marks 1 week since drop off.
HOORAY!. :frusty:
I've been skipping 3rd on cold starts. I've gotten some crunch gear changes but nothing that has been the typical grind .ive never be denied a gear by grinding, just a few bump grind entries.Well crap, this thread is making me worried now. I have what I would call a "bump" when I do the 2-3 shift. I don't consider it "grinding" but it is something that I feel all the time. I assumed it was a characteristic of the transmission. I guess it's time to head to the dealer and start getting this documented.
I recommend filing a BBB Auto Line Complaint. I don't know that it pushed Ford to take action in my case, but things seemed to move forward right after I filed. My dealer provided me a loaner from day 1, though. I had no issues with my dealer, at all.Currently it is still awaiting Parts. My dealer told me there was no parts nor any complete transmission units to be had - was waiting on Ford to tell them what to do or to pull one from the lot..(This was Tuesday/Wednesday)
Spoke to Ford (William) yesterday, He informed me there ARE parts that are making their way to the dealer - Said he couldn't confirm whether or not my dealer is getting parts or what yet. But he would keep me updated... He also authorized a rental - But has ZERO ETA on when I could possibly have any idea of getting my car back.
My Dealer called me Today, Informed me they submitted more paperwork as requested by William and that they're doing as requested at this point. But no word on parts or anything.. I then asked about the authorized rental/loaner and was told that they would let me know if the loaner would return today...
As someone who has bled blue since he was a little boy, owns 3 other fords... I'm pretty disappointed and rather mad. Especially with the general "No one knows or has an ETA" answer... I'm trying to remain a calm human being about this, but man it's getting hard.
I appreciate that, But I am not to that point - And as far as my dealer goes and loaners.. They've never really had many from my knowledge, and I do not have the extended warranty, so no rental coverage.. Not to mention I know the GM rather well and a family member is a tech. I'm not too worried about them to be honest.. I guess the back and forth about parts and lack there of is what has me boggled/mad. No one really has an answer.I recommend filing a BBB Auto Line Complaint. I don't know that it pushed Ford to take action in my case, but things seemed to move forward right after I filed. My dealer provided me a loaner from day 1, though. I had no issues with my dealer, at all.
800-955-5100 (M-F 9am to 5:30pm EST). I called and BBB started the process within a few minutes. They immediately notify Ford Motor Corporation, as well.
