Was just told today I can expect to not have my car till the middle of June. Was informed parts would hit state side sometime around the 1st, and then the process of parts or trans being shipped to dealer - then installation...

Needless to say, Time to turn into the sqweeky wheel. 100% unacceptable.

Oh - It's now week 2 officially, I'm just getting my loaner..
Jesus effin' Christ Ford! Middle of June?? :eyebulge: I bet there are a few of these slush boxes sitting in big ass building in Flat Rock! Replacement parts my ass, pull one off the assembly line stash and get a money paying customer fixed up! I would be sending a damned page from my payment book to someone!

Wow...

My Service adviser just called me to inform me Ford called him... There has been "A couple weeks" added to the ETA of the transmission...

Are we serious Ford ? No transmissions for a sold unit, But we'll still produce unsold ones!!!! What a JOKE!

None in stock... Hah.

Keep in mind that Ford's service parts organization is a completely separate group from the assembly plant, with unrelated inventory and warehousing, who assigns their own part numbers for ordering the exact same part and has their own ordering and billing, etc. To the vendor, they are essentially a different customer, and the customer has to pay attention to both. About the only thing that ties them together (for the vendor) is delivery performance. Even though the orders come from different channels with a different PN, missing a shipment to Service Parts still dings your quality rating for Ford as a whole, which can put one's Q1 rating in jeopardy.

Bottom line, it is entirely feasible and conceivable for the service parts group to be out of stock on a part that is being fed to the plant regularly. It probably happens all the time, no joke. The parts are in different systems, and they don't just pop into FRAP and raid the warehouse. Also, to Ford, the priority is to keep the assembly line fed - if they are tight on parts or there is a shortage, service parts can play catch up.

Yea - I understand, and do respect that to an extent. I'd imagine that they are not in high demand for repair (yet). They could absolutely allow for X quantity to keep paying customers on the road and happy. As someone who works customer service - That is how I would approach it.. If there IS quite a demand then obviously that rules that option out..

I guess what is driving me up the wall is that my car will be sitting at the dealer, dealing with the elements of their yard until Ford gets a transmission to them. The car is going to be Trashed. It isn't in some closed off garage tucked away - It's sitting outside, Just baking - Dust, Rain , Lot boys, passer bys, bird shit, bee poop... It's a total joke - After all of this elapsed time, the car will not be the same.. For how long ?? Well, No one truthfully knows.. Who's going to have to bust their ass and work to have it detailed again, clayed and waxed ? Me.. It's just is a shitty situation.

Sorry, don't take that as me being rude or anything towards you, I'm just extremely frustrated..

That's beyond unacceptable. What I was told, by both the Ford Corp Customer Service rep, as well as the Service Mgr at my dealership, is that an escalation process has to occur in order for a transmission to be pulled from the manufacturing line. Have you asked the dealer if they are willing to swap your MT82 for one in another vehicle on their lot? Often, the dealer will have a car with options that just doesn't move. Pretty sure that's what happened in my case. The donor was a TY vert that had been on the lot since December. I'm sure you've probably asked, but if not, might be worthwhile.

I bought the maintenance package on my car, so I'll be seeing my service dept every 5K miles. They made money on the labor, which was covered under warranty. And, they did get the replacement transmission. So, I don't know why they would have any bad feelings... Just business.

Today makes it 30 days! Still no word.

Thanks Ford!

This is just sickening! I would start getting all kinds of bad publicity on Ford for this one. News stations, Facebook, Ford blogs, etc. Expand your horizons other than this site. Hell, join some Chevy sites and start asking if GM has transmissions in stock for their cars.

It seems I grind 2nd and 3rd pretty noticeably when shifting under 2.5K RPM. However, when I shift above 2.5k into 2nd and into 3rd there is no grind or thud. Anyone else notice this and knows why????

I haven't noticed any grind or thud when shifting. Are these fast/hard shifts?

2-3 is clunky sometimes on mine also. MOF, this morning under hard acceleration the 2-3 shift resulted in a very harsh bang that I felt through the shifter. I fully expected to look in my rear view and see my tranny laying on the ground. Jesus. Another thing to worry about... My car is currently at the dealer for grinding brakes and the Coyote tick (could be an exhaust leak though). What next : /

Gear nibble is a perfect way to describe this. I have been skipping third and going straight to fourth to avoid it. Once the car warms up I have no issues. Call it a quick of the Trans but that's my fix for the time being.
Just installed the Blowfish shifter bracket on my GT PP. Huge difference. No nibble. My better half noticed right away and could shift like a champ.
