I am intrigued and scared of changing the codes. Can things be changed which will make the can unusable?
For sure there is a chance to change things for the worse if you make a mistake. But the changes are easy to undo. You can easily back up a module's configuration before changing it, and restore it later on if you don't like the results. Or just go back and revert those particular changes manually, if you can remember the previous values. No harm done.
The only thing I can think of that might do any actual damage if done incorrectly is uploading a new firmware version into a module. But you don't need to use this feature. Just stay away from it and you'll be fine.

Thanks. Another question. Where to get the hardware?"

That's correct. With the digital dash the performance shift light is available by default. You can set it from the on-screen menu.

Here's what I did to mine:
- changed the number of turn signal flashes from three to four
- disabled the double honk when you leave the car while the engine is still running
- disabled the open door chimes
- disabled the ESC chime
- disabled the green upshift/downshift arrows on the dash
- enabled automatic door lock upon driving off
- completely disabled the collision alert and the automatic braking
- disabled the outside temperature display in Sync (because I already have it on the instrument panel, so I'd rather have a clean clock on Sync).
- disabled the oil reminder that pops off at every engine start when the oil life drops below 10%
- disabled the key in ignition chime
- increased the wipers' delay after washing the windscreen from 250 ms to 550 ms
definitely interested in turning off collision alert and auto braking. That auto braking is total rubbish. It done it to me on the way home from work today, a leaf blew across the road and I guess the car thought it was a dog or something. Yeah a LEAF. Mind you it appeared to be a magnolia leaf (they're big) but still. And the double honk. Hate that.

are you just using the spreadsheet that is online or??

To disable the auto-braking crap I used the "easy" configuration options in ForScan (not the as-built section). The settings were as follows:

In the IPC:
Forward Collision Mitigation By Braking - Disabled
Forward Collision Warning - None
Forward Collision Warning Amber Alert - Disabled

In the IPMA:
Forward Collision Warning on Head-Up Display - No Head-Up Display
Pre-Collision Assist Type - Disabled

In the BCM:
Collision Mitigation By Braking - None

Now there's absolutely no warning, no chime, no related option in the menu, and most importantly, no self-braking at all.
The only minor drawback, if you can call it that, is that now I have a DTC in the ABS module, which cannot be erased (well, it can, but it will immediately come back). That's because the ABS module knows it's capable of self-braking, but the BCM tells it that no self-braking feature is installed in the car. So now the ABS module thinks it's not the right module for the car.
But apart from the code itself everything is fine. There's no warning light on the dash and the ABS works correctly. Apart from seeing that DTC in ForScan when you look for it, there's no other issue.

To disable the double honk I used the code I found in the online spreadsheet. Be aware that there's one code until 2019 and another from 2020 onwards. For 2020+ it's this:
726-63-02: xxx0 xxxx xxxx

Automatic braking can be deactivated in the "gear menu" of the instrument cluster.

Only for the current engine cycle. It will reactivate automatically next time you start the engine.
Plus, the alert cannot be deactivated, if I remember correctly. You can only turn its sensitivity down a bit.

Absolutely yes, always be careful and take a backup! Always save the FORScan profile AND download the AsBuilt data.
If you don't know what AsBuilt is, you need to study more (this is a serious note of caution).

Is this the extra wiping after the washing?
I would like to get rid of the automatic second post wiping because it causes streaking on my lotus effect coated front window.
Does anyone have an idea how I can stop this?

Just learned I only have to switch off "comfort wiper" in the menu. 😝

Salut Vlad,

how do you know the new asbuilt positions for 2020+ models? I am looking everywhere, but cannot find any information for changing asbuilt configurations for 2020+.
My problem is that I want to add rear fog lights to my 2021 Mustang and it looks like the configuration is not on the position it was prior to 2020:

726-28-01 xxxx x*xx xxxx Rear Fog Enable Cfg: 0=disabled --> 1=enabled
726-24-01 xxxx xxxx *xxx Interior Lighting (IL) / White Lighting (WL) / Backlighting LED (BL) / Rear Fog Lamp (RFL) - Circuit DTC (Normal/Inhibited): 5=IL norm, WL inhib, BL norm, RFL inhib --> 4=IL norm, WL inhib, BL norm, RFL norm
720-02-02 xxx* xx Rear Fog Indicator Cfg: 0=disabled --> 2=enabled

Multumesc anticipat,
Vaga

Is there any way to turn on the gear number selector on the autos instead of having to be in manual mode to see it?

Sorry, I don't know about those. There's a massive thread on ForScan codes in the DIY section. Maybe someone who's more experienced than I am in these matters can answer your questions there.
I just happened to find the 2020+ code for the double honk somewhere. I can't remember exactly where, but it might have been in that thread.

I disabled the honk when leaving the car running and changed turn signal from 3 to 5 blinks.
