Thats exactly how I wish my car was specced, I couldnt find one with the active exhaust and magneride. Id get the 10r80 though definitely.
Yeah same, I worry finding a used one with low miles and those packages will be tough to find. Also toying with the idea of a used gt350 in the $45-55k range.

I test drove a 10 speed and it drove me mad. Constant gear changes, downshifts are quite slow with paddles, felt confused. The gearbox was originally designed for a pickup and it shows.

Still working on this deal, have the dealer at $45,500, and they won't budge (MSRP on Ford's website is $51,060). Debating on whether to do it or wait and get one used. This one has the 401a, active exhaust, magne-ride, digital cluster, and pp1.

Thoughts on buying or waiting for a used one with those options?
There is nothing like a new car, do it! Plus used car prices are high right now.

You drove a very poor example. My A10 exhibits none of the issues. Maybe you drove a car that did not have the software update, and/or had low fluid. It also has a learning curve that needs some time to achieve.

The issues you have noticed have nothing to do with ”pickup trucks”. The transmissions for our cars are geared and mapped for performance. It may not be perfect but it is a fantastic tranny.

Just to give context I bought a used 2019 velocity blue with these exact options including the upgraded stereo(b&o) and manual. Car had 7500 miles and I got out the door for 36k. Purchased it last saturday, so used deals are out there

Just buy it. $5,560.00 off is almost an 11% discount. That's fine. But it and enjoy it.

Or come to my area, the cheapest place to buy Fords, and get the same car slightly cheaper; https://www.koonsfordfallschurch.com/new/Ford/2020-Ford-Mustang-17068ca40a0e0adf56634e9313c79224.htm

Correct and that said transmission there is an active class action lawsuit against them for it in the F150. My 10R80 only has 11k miles on it and drives like shit. Half the time it forgets to shift after first or second gear and just hangs.

If you really want manual, I think I would go with the gt350 since it has a tremec, they are more rare and probably will hold value better and have an awesome NA engine. Although ive seen quite a few engine failures on gt350s

I agree from my first impression of it coming from manual but now I just paddle shift 100% of the time after the car is warmed up. Shifts are extremely fast at full throttle and you can learn to shift in advance to take any delay into account when downshifting and I actually have more fun than any of my prior manual cars (2 mustangs and cts-v2 with tr6060 which was much better than mt82) I broke my 2011 mustangs mt82 with just a tune on it..

If I was going for a manual car I think I would definitely go with a gt350 since it has a tremec

True, ive thought about this, but this is my DD and I live in utah, I might feel a little bad driving a shelby in the snow. I've also thought about waiting for the mach1 but ik guessing those will be priced in the high 50ks when they first drop..

Fucking driving a Mustang in the snow!!!!

Love it.

Get a good set of Mud & Snow tires, and they're unstoppable. I love driving in tough weather conditions, love the challenge. Rain, sleet, snow ice.......love it.

The Shelby is just not comparable to a PP1, period. A PP1 MR is barely compliant enough for DD. A Shelby is not. And it'd be less reliable for sure. A flat-crank engine is not going to fare well in the long run, compared to a smoother cross-plane one. I'd definitely go with the new car, especially since it's really hard to find one like that. I tried, and ended up with a Bullitt when absolutely nothing popped up nationwide. And actually bought the Bullitt cheaper than the less equipped GT PP1s out there, so no contest there :). You can also consider leftover Bullitts out there, which have a similar MSRP. Good luck.

Bummer the one you drove was like that. Mine is very reactive, and aggressively downshifts when I want throttle even without the paddles in sport mode.
