I actually removed the TB spacer and do not plan on reinstalling it unless I see a benefit with it in the tune. When I removed it I still had my cai on and I noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in response and low end power. I don't exactly know why but Tom y from supersix observed the same behavior on their car. I believe the dyno difference was 9hp.
Hmmm... very interesting... I'll have to check that out once I finally pickup a CAI

Yeah we could do that. I have a question I been meaning to ask you? How does that 302 mustang you have compare to yours in speed and power and such? I know it's older but is it faster or just a cruising car?
The 302 has about 340hp or about 280-290whp. It terms of speed both are about equal I would say. The difference is in the power band and torque. The 3.7l has nothing compared to my 302's low end torque. That argubly makes the 302 "feel" more powerful. I believe though that if I ran the two against each other that it would come down to a drivers race.

Hmm okay. Glad to see you can enjoy the best of both worlds having an old stang and a new one haha.

Yep! My dad and I restored the 70 as a father son project when I was 15-17. My dad actually acquired the car and many other parts from Ronnie and Donnie Neuenberger (NASCAR) some 25yrs ago after he started to restore it for them.

Did you receive the tune with the tuner as well?

No I had to mail Torrie the strategy code and serial number. Easy to do and he got back to me within 10min with the tune file! :headbang:

I love what he did with the transmission shifting! Just sent off the first datalog so we can get the tune dialed in. Once that is done I will be sure to do a full review and videos.

Let me know how it goes and what did you have to do to data log your car?

He requested a WOT run with these parameters monitored.

Throttle angle
Pedal position
RPM
IAT
ECT
Long and short trim fuel trims
Measured AFR both banks
VSS
Load
Spark advance
Knock retard

My damn 3k hesitation is still present.... Hopefully we can get that one figured out.

I need to send him my data log as well when I do it. How long did you have to do the WOT run?

I would certainly suggest doing the data log! I can send you the config file for Live Link if you would like. Pm your email and I will get it right to you. Just from the revised tune I just flashed I certainly noticed a increase in low end responsiveness and smoother overall operation.

Torrie did not specify a time for me. I did one that was no more then 12 sec I would say. Very easy to do on a decently flat and straight stretch of road.

Torrie is the man!! His latest tune revision has almost cured the 3k hesitation! There is only a slight dip in power and slight exhaust note change now. Waiting to hear back from him now on finalizing this tune revision.

Torrie's final tune revision is damn near perfect! Little to no hint of that 3k hesitation now. He said he needed to add more fuel sooner in the rpm band then what was there previously.
