Good question, even though I don't have an answer.
However, there are `clutch pedal extensions' available on the market. By the same principle, they could design (or could have designed) a `gas pedal extension'
For the first one, I always thought that it is the clutch chattering (when suddenly relieved of the load from engine/engine-braking). I have a manual V6, and I experience this a lot (esp. when coasting out of my drive way (no gas) and then step on the clutch).
Update: On my way home today, I made a point to observe my A/F ratio closely. One thing is that the lowest label on the A/F meter is 10. Another is that for my typical driving, the lowest reading my car reached during my not-so-aggressive driving today was about 12. My 2016 V6 manual is stock...
This happens on my manual V6 (stock) as well. Basically, whenever I ABRUPTLY let gas off at high rpm (say 4k or above), the a/f ratio will drop from 14 to a very low level (don't remember the exact number thou) for a split second before going up to higher level if your right foot is kept off the...
The added stress (of short throw) is not caused by the design of the X-Spec per se. It is caused by the design of short throw (regardless of who makes it).
I don't know how the PCM calculate distance traveled. If it is by rotation, then wheels with larger diameter will make the PCM under-calculate the distance, if parameters for the original/smaller wheels are used. This will result in less mpg. Just my speculation.
I don't have a tune. But my guess (from reading here) is that (with SCT at least) the car itself can store only 1 program/tune at any given moment, even though the tuner can store several tunes. If you want to switch from the 87 tune to 91 tune, you have to uninstall the 87 tune, install the...
