So only 10-30pct then before the portal opens? 😁

I drove ZL1 6mt. And it was completely tame and comfy to drive around town. There just was more torque everywhere at any small throttle. I would hope a 3.0pd on coyote would be same.
I mean you have to have it open more than 50%. It does read funny how I wrote that though

Any time it's making vacuum it's basically like stock. Never drove a ZL1 but I would imagine it's similar

I mean a centri car doesn't build boost unless you're closer to wide open either. For some reason some people think once you put the whipple on you can't touch the gas without roasting the tires...

Depends on the bov spring pressure, you can adjust that and bring boost in earlier on the pedal. Not as much as pd but you could get 1-2psi at idle if you really wanted.

I prefer it coming in a bit later, over half throttle. It's easier to keep traction coming out of a corner. And once the rear does brake loose, you need fine control of the torque so you don't over cook it.

Why do Canadians call A&P mechanics engineers? Its very misleading and a false title
I don't know why do they?

I'm not Canadian by the way and there's a difference between a licenced engineer and a technician/ mechanic here too.

You've never driven a PD car if you think you can only give it 20-50% throttle before it opens a gate to hell
I don't have this type of displine. When it's go time I just panic and go ballistic.

It's always come in at the same time. Even if you don't have a bov you're not going to make boost at idle on any centrifugal car I've owned

so you have an airframe license and you just don't know what it's called? Seems unlikely, equally as unlikely for an aeronautical engineer to call themselves an airplane engineer

So if i knew the name, does that mean youd believe me? 😂

horrible logic, different countries different names and titles. Not a big deal

I'm lost! When did this take place? We'd actually be referred to as Clankies/heavies, or Fairies/greenies if you're avionics. I'm multi trade Airframe/engines and did my licence a couple years after I qualified my 4 year tech course which makes me "engineer" rather than "technician".

There are some smart guys here, I was just pointing out that Mike wasn't the only one who knew his stuff when someone pitched in with the highly technical and useful post of "Hey guys, mike is the most competent here, you should all listen to him!"

And no doubt Mike is, noone's ever said he isn't.

When did taking sides become a beneficial part of the technical debate?!!!

It's like dealing with children!

Did you think posting in a forum would be anything but dealing with children 😂

im no engineer but ive done my fair share of engineering creativity between car diy and construction as my job, can i get the stamp of approval so my opinions can be validated here?

The centrifugal chargers only make boost when the bov closes from the decay in manifold vacuum Vs bov spring pressure.

If you increase the spring tension in the BOV, it closes the valve with less drop in manifold vacuum and results in more boost at lighter throttle input. Obviously within the realms of compressor surge.

And vice versa, if you want boost later on the pedal, make the spring tension less.

They still aren't going to make boost at idle. As I said you can run one without a bypass valve if you want.

And that is not how you control boost with a centrifugal.

Correct me if im wrong but Wastegates control boost. BOVs relieve the pressure in the intake/ piping during gear changes to prevent compressor surge.

not on a centrifugal supercharger, on a turbo you'd be correct.
