Looks amazing!

Bumped into a friend with his Black GT-350 today. I love the look of black cars but I think i'm too OCD for another black car.
For 17 years I had nothing but black cars. Why…I don’t know. Love the look but, I also am OCD. When I finally broke the streak after that I swore never again. But every once in a while I see one that looks great and think maybe…

I was on the fence about getting a black GT-350 with blue stripes. I would probably need to PPF the whole damn thing though

Exactly. People need to realize that black is a $7000 option!

This started out as a simple idea. Change the rear brake pads. OEM were way too dusty for my liking. Bought some Z23 Powerstop pads. I had full intentions to just paint the rotor hats and put it all back together with some covers that I bought off Alibaba. But... the inboard rotor surface on the drivers side looked like a washboard. Not sure how they got this way with only 14100km's. Bad casting? So the original rotors were not going back on with new pads. Got some Powerstop rotors with Geomet coating. I was surprised at how little surface area the OEM rear pads have compared to the Powerstop ones. These are much more substantial.

With cleaned up calipers and new pads/rotors.

Hiding the fugly duckling. Added these covers that I custom painted. Matches the front Brembos fairly well. I absolutely hate the the look of the OEM calipers and would rather hide them behind some fakes than look at that ugly ass caliper. The covers are cast aluminum and very well made and fit great for what they are.

"Impressive!" In my best James Earl

But my Force must be weak, for I can not devine the URL of the off-world trader with whom you swapped Federation credits to acquire.

From now on any time some yahoo moans about how he needs 4-pot Brembos for the rear wheel we can point to this post.

Probably more cost savings, lol. My rears have always looked a little different from the fronts as far as wear. But given how nose heavy these cars are, the fronts do most of the work anyway so I kinda understand it.

I use the same rotors and pads on my Taurus, they're pretty good stuff.

Hope you're not in a hurry. I was told 4 months for my 86 SVO. Was 5 before I got it. The framed one. Very nice though!
RE: SVO

I’ve owned (3) in the past and was a long time member on the (2) most popular SVO sites from years ago…. Just curious if you had ever purchased the SVO book by David LaRocque? If so, care to share any thoughts/info about it in PM?

What’s the stats on your 86 SVO?

Took the K & N filter out for a cleaning and checked and regapped plugs 3 and 4 and replaced Pertronix coils for OEM units because of a flashing CEL from yesterday afternoon.

Yeah it's part of why I wish my car was any other colour... when it's spotless, it looks 🔥, when it's dirty it looks like 💩.

I love it when it's clean, but unfortunately I hate cleaning cars lol.

Would you mind linking the specific covers you used? They look pretty nice, almost not like a cover at all.
