I use an Odyssey AGM. AGM is a little bit better than lead acid in real world use, and you don't have to worry about your post/battery cables corroding nearly as much. They aren't as heat resistant though, that's the trade off. But given the battery gets a nice little insulated compartment, I don't worry about it too much.
Hm, I do worry about that a bit on wife's F150 tho, it's the 3.5 ecoboost plus we are now fighting it running a bit hot. Altho there's lot more room under the hood of the truck I guess.

Put in the new battery today. Was only disconnected for about 5 minutes (did a full corrosion clean-up in May) so everything was saved and the car fired right up.

A real experience at the NC Inspection station today. Took it to my usual station, which normally has young guys cooing over the car..
This year it was like their dads had stepped in.

Tester guy said he wouldn’t be able to get it on the ramps as splitter was too low. Didn’t like the rear cage and race seats.. No 3 point belts, rear seat delete, APR wing… he couldn’t find the battery LOL, it’s in the trunk, I told him.. Why he asked.. LOL
Accused me of having a race car not a road car.
They politely asked if I would take it somewhere else. After a good. 20 mins explaining that all is legal and the car would out perform a stock car on the road as far as safety.
He didn’t want to rely on the jacking rails to lift the car and said my brakes were excessive and maybe binding. (Full rebuild and replacement last weekend)

Luckily another tech stepped in, but also reluctantly took the test and gave me the green light..

PHEW..!

LOL! Excessive brakes? What's the problem with that? You might stop TOO fast?

Not sure OSHA would be OK with the two tanks not being chained up! Yes, they have caps on, but still!

Took Maggie to the Shelby American Collection yesterday. They have a 2022 Ford GT LM there!

Added Amazon tail light covers. We’ll see how they do. I’ll take the chance, for how little they cost. 1/2 the price of my friend who does vinyl wraps. If they don’t hold up or collect too much condensation, I’ll have him wrap them.

I finally got to put the Hoosier drag front bias ply tires to use yesterday at a track rental event at HRP in Baytown, TX.

Hit the hardware store and met an old drag racer. He was picking up some stuff forhis ā€œsmall motorā€ (580-something displacement). Super cool old time drag racer.
