Nice night tonight (although it did rain driving home) so I took it out for a drive and we stopped at the pub.

We socially distanced (including the parking lol), used the track n trace app, didn’t have any alcohol (deserts only) and didn’t break the speed limit. One of those statements might be bull sh1t, I will let you guess which one ... :cwl:

Yes, but it’s not a daily driver and it’s only been in work twice - on Fridays (quiet car park) and only when it’s been dry ... lol

There’s a very architectural building close by that I want to take it to for some full photos, I want the black bonnet vents on first though as at that point it won’t change ‘visually’ for quite a while :like:

I know it's personal choice, so I am not judging.

However that phrase upsets me no end.

Cars are for driving, not hiding.

They should be out and about at every single opportunity, not parked up awaiting fine weather or the weekend, unless it is purely a track car and not legal for the road.

My Mustang is a daily driver, commuting to work, going shopping, going to the gym, going on holiday, everything.

Again that is my opinion and I understand others don't think the same, but I always think it a massive shame that any car is not constantly used for the purpose for which it was built.

I’ve no problem with that view :like:

I have managed to keep my old car (Kia sportage), it does a far better job of lugging the family around, camping, carrying my bikes, getting me down bad roads for my trail runs, throwing wetsuits in the back and dealing with wet, muddy or icy roads than the mustang ever will. Hence why my mustang is not a daily driver.

If I wasn’t lucky enough to have two cars and I could only have one, it wouldn’t be a mustang ... :frown:

My Mustang is a garage ornament for most of time. It's not practical to load gardening equipment and supplies into the back of Mustang so it stays in the garage while I daily drive a Ranger.

If I ever get rid of the sportage I would hope to replace it with a ranger ... :sunglasses:

The sportage is doing well though, it’s nine years old now and it’s been a great car I’ve just done a tyre, wheel and brake refurb :

Dare I say it’s general build quality exceeds the mustangs ...

The wife has a Q3, for her commute and shopping etc, being taxi for the grandkid.

But even when we go away on holiday we take the Mustang, got plenty of room for all the luggage and accoutrements.

No way I would leave the Mustang at home and go away in the Q3

Let the oiks steal the wife's Q3 not my pride and joy.

Had all sorts in back of the Mustang, trips to the tidy tip with garden waste and building waste, just needs a clean out after and back to new.

But like I say each to their own, it's a personal choice, but way I see it if I had a choice of two cars on the driveway each time i walked out the house, the other would get no use I'd be in the Mustang constantly :sunglasses:

No way is a camping holiday working for my family in the mustang ...

There was only my footwell that wasn’t stacked up. No way is that lot going in the mustang followed by a six hour drive. There’s no bikes on the roof and no helmets either - and I still got sulked at for not letting them take as much as they wanted ... :cwl:

Anyhow, back on the mustang and enough about the Kia :like:

More eBay bits arrived today to make the trunk pulls :

I couldn’t have the sub box missing out ...

Look a bit nicer than the originals :

Not sure why the originals needed grade 10.9 to hold a sub in place ... ?

Considering one part was painted in America and the other was anodised in China, the colour match didn’t work out to bad :

Did those bolts fit straight in or did you need to tap them? I got a nice pull for mine, but it's not fixed in great.

A sub is supposed to be just for boom.

It should never have the range to "play music"

No it shouldn't. The OEM sub just provides a 60Hz boom / resonance that overwhelms the music. A good Sub should be able to play a range of low frequency sound without resonance or boom (loss of cone control). Bass should be tight and musical (within the subs frequency range) - Lots about it in the threads on the main forum about how poor the sub is and how badly tuned the OEM system is. Honestly replacing the speaker makes a night and day difference to the whole system. I have done a thread on how I replaced mine as well.
