This is true. I've seen back to back GT350 vs. CJ manifold drag races (at strips) and the CJ wins in trap speed and time just about every time, unless the guy has a bad launch. Typically we're talkin' street tire runs. I haven't seen every race of the GT350 vs. CJ and #drivermod matters but... then we have dyno days relatively often and, well, the CJ wins by a smidge again in the curve.

The GT350, compared to the CJ (if you're going to change the manifold anyway), is a much better bang for the buck, though. I think the CJ, because of the fancy TB and need for at least a different intake tube, is notably more expensive.
I can't imagine an 18 gtpp with 10 speed auto and magna ride running cobra jet intake manifold. If they find a way to do that then we are looking at an NA Track and Drag Strip Monster! This is with proper tires ofcourse.

Interesting video. I'm pretty sure I know the guy he referenced at the end who trapped 122mph with the GT350 mani, if its the Scott I'm thinking of he also had catless SW longtubes and put down 454rwhp. So essentially its a full bolt-on coyote.

Sounds about like what I've heard so far. If you want to go all out, go with the CJ. If you're on a budget, go with the GT350. If you're not too big into drag racing stick with the stock manifold.

EDIT: All this PMAS talk has me wanting to try mine out. I'll probably ask Lund for a PMAS and JLT tune and test them out at the track once I get the GT350 manifold installed.

I'm with ya on the PMAS, I've seen more than a few mentions of the benefits of the PMAS, compared to other CAIs.

Any more dyno graphs of stock IM vs GT350 IM both using CMCV??

I am gonna say depending on how you drive the car.
Just commuting, you are not gonna notice the added top end power.

Bear in mind the guy on the video is talking exclusively about drag racing, where only top end matters.

Yes. Drivability is important to me. I think swapping the GT350 manifold. Keeping the stock TB, swapping LU47 injectors, and retuning the Lund flex tune for me should meet the best of both worlds.

I'm thinking maybe it is not worth it for me. I daily drive my Mustang and like to rev it out but I don't drag race. Will be tracking it but not often.

All this talk about the PMAS is intriguing me though. I wonder if there are any gains to be had over the JLT.

I bet gains over the JLT will be zero.

It has already been shown that the JLT has a little more bottom end power, the PMAS offers a little more at the top and (compared to each other). The Steeda intake seems to offer gains (with a tune) over the entire curve which is what I'd care about. You can contact SteedaTech to discuss their testing. Yes, the Steeda intake will connect to the GT350 manifold with a cheap adapter - done it.

I had this same question. My 2017 GT is my DD...No track or drag racing (except for occassional stop light wars). I have an axleback exhaust, but not going to do headers, supercharger, or any other major power adder. I'm wondering if I'd really benefit from the GT350 IM. Thinking i should just do a CAI and tune, and call it a day
