BUT I just bought a house in a 55+ years community. How loud is the AE in quiet mode with the H pipe? 🙄
Quiet mode is still quiet. You’ll be fine.
I agree, its really strange, it seems to ramp up the other modes but leaves quiet mode virtually untouched.

Here is what I wrote after initial fitment so the comparison was still fresh :

With regards to the sound of the H, it’s the same but different if that makes sense lol ?

From inside the car it’s a bit louder (in a good way), but quiet mode seems little different (which is also good). Defo a few more pops and burbles on the overrun. Rev matching sounds wicked when driving enthusiastically on the blips that take the rpm up to 5k+, it kind of makes the engine sound more responsive / more free revving (I know it not, it just sounds that way) :like:

From outside the car (all judged by my daughter who was in her room doing homework), it louder and smoother if that makes sense ? She said I thought you were home, then it got a bit louder, then some more, then I got home … lol

Cold starts are ‘really’ nice, although defo not the best option for getting a true representation (standard iPhone X microphone and whatever speakers you are listening on) :

I’ve not found any drone at any rpm in track mode - I've not bothered checking the other modes yet.

Crappy GoPro 2 sound, but here are some moving clips :

Remove AE 2 years ago, thought sound level and driving mode worked in concert. Seem to remember it controlled the valve positioning of the AE. Quiet mode only affected start up?

Just to add, the rate of acceleration has a lot to do with the sound level

I went with BBK long tubes, no resonators and no cats, 3" flow master x pipe into stock active mufflers. Track mode is ridiculous. Quiet is quiet. Normal is a little rowdy.

Don't you think that is all about the valve positioning of the AE? Just to add, the rate of acceleration has a lot to do with the sound levels
Yes you are correct. With the active exhaust it has butterfly exhaust valves near the exit and they close all the way to mute the exhaust on start up and acceleration.

Just bought a Roush cat back exhaust. Comes with the X pipe and I ordered an H pipe to replace that. But now I’m undecided. 90 percent of my driving is under 4k rpm. I want it to sound deep but want it to scream also when I hit the higher rpm’s. At the same time I want to hear the exhaust on my regular driving. What would I benefit more with?
I have a factory active exhaust and I roll normal mode around town and sport on the freeway.. My driving style is pretty mellow... I did an H and felt it was lacking so removed it and installed a Steeda X and glad I did. Nice growl, a little more unique sounding at least for my ears. My butt dyno sensed maybe a little more oomph during acceleration. As far as loudness, not obnoxious just more volume. When I accelerate past people who are in a stopped turn lane in the opposite direction, I can hear the volume of my exhaust bounce off the cars and it's not an annoying loud it is just an aggressive V-8 sound. Finally, I have ALOT of people pull beside me at a stop light and compliment me on the "perfect" sound of my car so I figure I did something right by deleting the resonator and going with the X.

X is just a more raspy.. I have an H-Pipe and its still plenty loud. These cars are more raspy already so that's why I went with the H-Pipe. You want lots of raspy or little raspy, that tis the question...
I went Corsa double H with 2 Total Flow 6645B mini race mufflers welded in. Running Corsa Sport Cat-back.
NO more rasp at all, 25% louder than stock below 4K, above 4K and WOT sounds like a pissed-off super-muscle car. I'm also Roush Supercharged P2.
H or Double H is lower tone, the race mufflers eliminate all rasp.

Now that right there is how to keep sound low and CFM high. Now all you need to is to eliminate the connection bottlenecks.
Looking really good 👍

I had a Steeda H pipe in my former ride, and no active exhaust. So... now I have active exhaust and no pipe yet.. BUT I just bought a house in a 55+ years community. How loud is the AE in quiet mode with the H pipe? 🙄
I have the Steeda H-Pipe with my AE. I leave for work by 4:30am so noise was something I wanted to manage. With the quiet start option, I don't worry about it. Our bedroom is right above the garage and it doesn't wake my wife. You should be fine.

It should still be fairly quiet. I’m scheduled to get mine installed in a few weeks. I leave early in the morning a few days a week for work and am not worried about waking neighbors with the H installed.
You're gonna love it!

Steeda has a video where they test them both. The X made much more power.

When we had a local 1/4 mile dragstrip, I had the Steeda X on as data I had seen shows more upper RPM RWHP and that is what I was after. I really liked the sound with the AE as well. Quiet mode was fairly quiet. A bit more raspy than I cared for 6000+ RPM but it screamed!

I also have the Steeda H. I switched to it after our track closed and I really enjoy the tone. Steeda H with AE in Sport/Track is perfect for me driving by myself. If I'm talking with a passenger or on the phone (BT), then quiet or normal mode is preferred. Track mode sounds fantastic in upper RPMs but not as raspy and raw as the X. I'm going to keep the H on for the foreseeable future.
